Chapter 10

I was tanning near the lake with Mia and Sarah while Michael and Luke were going out onto the boat with dad. Sarah kept going on about how many fashion shows she’s been too making Mia and I roll our eyes.

“Oh I also met Harry Styles yesterday, such a gentlemen really” sometimes I think Sarah is making this up but she always has a photo to prove it, Sarah always had the perfect life while I was in the background having a not so perfect life like hers.

“So Jodee have you and Luke kissed yet”? I looked at Mia who was smirking and about to laugh, she reminds me so much of Michael and I knew them two were soul mates.

“No we haven’t I mean it’s only been a month and were taking things slow” Sarah rolled her eyes leaning back in her chair.

“Gez if I was dating a hot guy like Luke I would have already kissed him” of course Sarah would say that.

“Hey ladies” I turned my head seeing Ashton and I freaked out seeing Ashton there for some reason

“Ashton” I said in shock but once I sat up I fell off my chair and felt embarrassed, Sarah was laughing at me while Ashton walked over helping me and was laughing a bit.

“You okay”?

“Yeah just yeah got up too fast I guess” I looked up at Ashton looking at his beautiful hazel eyes with his smile that could cure anything. “So why are you here anyway not that I mind but”

“Well your brother wanted to hang out with me and I told him today was my day off so he invited me to go out on the boat today”

“Well better get going because they are about to leave”

“Right I’ll see you around” Ashton ran off to the docks to join the boys.

“You know too bad your taken Jodee because something tells me that Ashton guy has a thing for you” Sarah told me

“You think so”?

“Yeah but your taken and his hot so maybe I can change his mind and he can be my boyfriend by the end of the summer”

“News flash your seventeen and his twenty so keep dreaming”

“Well that didn’t stop Harry Styles from kissing me and his the same age as that Ashton guy”

“Whatever” I sat back down looking at Ashton getting on the boat with the boys, I knew having my best friend on this trip was great but I forgot about Ashton and our fling even if it was just flirting last summer and maybe if I wasn’t fake dating my best friend than Ashton would had made a move on me even though I was 18 but I would be 19 soon in a couple of months but then Ashton will be 21 but it was his fault he started this whole thing anyone so I blame him.

Later that day I was helping Grandma Set up dinner and she wanted it to be outside tonight because she had a feeling it was going to be a beautiful night and I didn’t want to argue whenever Grandma said were having dinner outside we have dinner outside and she’s always right. I notice the boys coming back with Dad from their boat ride.

“Hey how was your day out”? I asked the boys

“So much fun but best moment was Luke getting on wave board he had trouble at first but he got it” Michael said patting him on the shoulders, Grandma came out and said

“Oh you boys are back already well since your back you can help me out with dinner, Ashton would you like to stay for dinner”? I looked at Ashton who was looking at me he looked at Grandma smiling

“I would love too”

“Oh goodie, Luke want to help me cook again”? She asked with excitement

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world” Luke and Grandma walked off to the kitchen, while Michael and dad going to the shed leaving Ashton and I alone. I turned to him smiling awkwardly

“And then there were two” he said

“Yeah”

“So I’m guessing you need help”?

“Well yeah but it’s okay if you”

“Jodee it’s fine, I’ll go get more plates” Ashton said interrupting me walking into the house, god that boy makes my heart pound a million times.
