Chapter 21

Today was New Year’s Eve and the only thing on my mind was the fact that tonight was the night I was kissing my best friend, I shouldn’t make a big deal about it but I was because who knows what will happen from that. Ashton would be returning tomorrow and these past couple of days without Ashton have been me thinking about my friendship with Luke. We were all heading out shopping since the New Year’s party was up at the country club and I wanted to get a good dress that makes me look good. Once Luke and I were up we ran downstairs getting in the car with Michael and Mia.

We were at the shop and Luke and I were trying on clothes well I was, Luke gave up minutes ago. Luke was sitting on the couch outside the changing rooms and I said

“These dresses make me look ugly”

“Jodee” I popped my head out looking at him

“What”?

“You look beautiful in anything if I pick a dress for you will you try it on” I wasn’t sure if I should trust Luke but I nodded

“Okay” Luke got up looking around while I looked at the ugly red dress, seconds later Luke came back handing me a gorgeous dress I bet you Mia helped him pick it out because I know his not that great picking clothes. It was a strapless dress that was long at the back but short at the front with a black lace top no way Luke picked this. I tried it on and fell in love with the dress.

“Can I have a look”?

“No”

“Does it look bad”?

“It’s perfect Luke”

“Then why can’t I see it”? he asked

“Because Lucas it’s a surprise”

“Fine, at least let me pay for it because that makes me feel like a gentlemen”

“Luke no”

“I’m going to buy it for you now give me the dress” I got undressed giving him the dress and I quickly got changed meeting Luke at the counter. The lady smiled at me and said

“So this must be the lucky girl with an amazing boyfriend here” I nodded looking at Luke smiling

“Yep”

“Well I bet your going to look gorgeous in this dress for tonight” Luke paid her and we both said thank you, Luke put his arm around me and said

“She’s right you’re going to look gorgeous in that dress” he pulled me close kissing my head meeting up with everyone else.

I was with Mia getting dressed in her and Michael’s room, I was doing my hair and Mia was as well.

“So you ready to kiss your best friend”? She asked curling her hair

“I don’t know maybe”

“I think someone is finally falling for her best friend”

“I really don’t know any more Mia; I guess I have to find out tonight”

“God this is so exciting I mean this is basically the part in the movie that leads up to the big kiss and they realise they both like each other”

“You watch way too many romance movies”

“I know, I know” Mia got up putting her dress on that was beautiful as well, I stood up putting my dress on and she smiled

“I knew it would look good on you”

“Thanks but I’ve got no shoes to go with it”

“Luckily I’ve got my black high heels that you can wear”
