Chapter 11

Ashton and I were setting plates up and forks and knives it was silent at first but Ashton spoke up

“So your boyfriend seems nice and he seems really into you as well” seems Luke was talking about me a lot today to Ashton.

“Yeah he is a nice guy always has been” Ashton nodded and he said

“As much as I like seeing you happy and how great Luke is but I wish I got in there sooner” I looked up at Ashton shocked at what he said, did he really just say that I was about to speak until I heard Luke’s voice.

“Dinner’s ready guys”

“Coming” we both said running to go help Grandma, I walked into the kitchen grabbing plates but what Ashton told me was stuck in my mind. Luke walked over to me putting an arm around me

“You okay, you seem to be day dreaming”

“Yeah just something on my mind I’ll take about it later promise” I decided to give Luke a kiss on the cheek before walking out joining the family for dinner.

I was sitting between Luke and Michael and Ashton was across from me sitting next to Sarah who was talking to Ashton but I knew Ashton wasn’t interested. He kept making eye contact with me and I laughed at how bored he was Sarah was going on about her life and didn’t let Ashton get one word in.

“So Ashton why did you decide to come back to work here”? Mum asked

“Well I figured there were such lovely people that come here and it’s good pay”

“Oh come on I don’t believe that for a second I bet it was because of a girl” Dad said at the end of the table, that’s when Ashton looked at me smiling

“Yeah you could say that” I looked away from Ashton grabbing more steak.

Later that night all of us teens were around the fire drinking while the adults were inside, Luke and I were under a blanket enjoying the fire. Luke was nice and warm but this wasn’t knew to me I always cuddled up to him when I went with his family on camping trips that’s how close we were.

“So Sarah I believe we had a bet that you mentioned” Sarah’s attention was now off Ashton and looking at me

“Well now I take it back”

“Oh no but you can’t a bets a bet remember”

“This is bullshit” Sarah said getting up and started undressing herself, Mia covered Michael’s eyes and Sarah went up on the docks and did the rude finger while falling back into the water. “Fuck it’s cold” Michael quickly got up running to grab her clothes and running to go hide them leaving the rest of us to laugh.

“Was that entertaining”? Luke asked

“God this fake relationship was so worth it” I whispered so no one could hear us, we both laughed together and enjoyed the rest of our night with everyone else but I did notice Ashton looking at us every now and then.

Luke and I were in my room getting changed into pjs well I did all Luke had to do was strip down to his boxers and get into bed.

“So what’s the deal with you and Ashton”? He asked, now this was my best friend talking I sat up looking at him.

“Well while you helping grandma with dinner we were talking and Ashton said he likes seeing me happy but he did wish it was him with me, do you know what that means”

“What does that mean”?

“He likes me Luke; I never thought a guy like him would like me”

“Well he does but you do realise you’re in a fake relationship with me although he does think it’s real and you can’t just break up with me because Sarah will catch on”

“I know and I like having you on this trip because despite having Ashton with me last year it’s just not the same with my best friend”

“Aw” Luke walked over to me giving me tight hug “You’re so cute” I fell back on the bed laughing

“Luke, get off me please” Luke got off me walking over to his bed.

“Goodnight Luke” I said turning the light off

“Goodnight”
