The bell rings and I go up to cash. He turns to me. "Wanna meet at lunch?" I ask. "Oh so now you want to hang out" he says with a quiet laugh. I roll my eyes. "Well we kinda have to" I say. "We have to pick a book, read it and do-" he cuts me off. "I know.. I was there" he says. Wow. I can't believe he's acting like this. "Cash, we have four days!" I say. "I know, pick a book! I'm fine with anything" he says and starts to walk away. "Anything?" I say jokingly. He stops. "Fine. Let's go pick a book at the library at lunch" he says and walks away. "I'll meet you there" I say and head to my class.
For some stupid reason, I can't get my mind off cash. He's annoying as hell but.. I don't know. I head to the library to meet cash. I wait and wait until there's only 20 minutes left of lunch. Oh. Did I mention that lunches are an hour? I see cash walk by with a girl. Hmm.. let's see how much he likes this.
"Hey baby" I say as I walk up to them. He narrows his eyes at me. "Who's this" says the girl. "Dude I thought you were single!" She yells and storms off. I stand in front of cash with one hand on my hip and shrug my shoulders. "What.. the hell was that?!" He scoffed. "Well, maybe if you had of met me at the library at the beginning of lunch, like we planned! I wouldn't have had to say anything" I yell.
This project is going to be great. Great partner who obviously does so much work! Cares so much about his and others grades. Great. Couldn't have asked for a better partner. I turn and walk into the library.
I start to look at books when cash comes up behind me. "What the fuck hope" he says. I ignore him. He grabs my shoulder and turns me around. "What" I say. "Why would you do that!" He yells. "Shh!" Says the librarian. He looks at her and then narrows his eyes back at me. "Why would - cash why would you stand me up like that!" I yell. I take him out of the library before we get yelled at. "What! It's not like it was a date!" He says. "This is a project that we have four days to complete!" I yell. "A partner project. Not just your mark, but mine too. Why don't you actually take a minute to think about someone other than yourself!" I snap. He starts to say something but doesn't.
Come on hope! Change your partners! You're going to fail if you stay with him! He's nothing but bad luck. I would if I didn't have FOUR DAYS to complete this. We have to read an entire book in four days and then make a presentation explaining every little detail about the book! And cash clearly doesn't want any part of it. "Come on! There's 10 minutes of lunch left and we NEED to pick a book" I grab his and and pull him into the library.
"What kind of books do you like" I ask. "I don't read" he replies. "Okay then what kind of movies do you like" I say. "Umm I don't know adventure, action and horror" he says. "Okay, all of those ones are over in this section" I say. He looks surprised. "Wait, you're okay with that?" He says. "Yeah, I love horror movies and action and adventure can be pretty cool" I say.
"What about this one, I've never seen it but it looks pretty cool" I say. I read the description to him. "Sure" he says. I look up at him. "And actually read it" I say. "Try to have it done by tomorrow night so that gives us Sunday and Monday to work on the presentation" I say. "I'm sorry for not coming earlier" he says. Wow, he's actually apologizing. "It's fine" I say. "Want to meet up tonight to start reading? I'm a slow reader" he laughs and rubs the back of his neck. "I mean, if you want to help me move my stuff into my dorm, sure" I smile. "Alright, I'm fine with that" he says. "Meet me there at 5:00.. don't be late this time. It's room 163 in building 2" I say.
