It was late in the afternoon as everything was set up with the house decorated and food prepared as the time came for the Birchwood jubilee as the guests were starting to arrive.
"Who's ready to have fun?"
"I think you're the only one who got started a little early."
"We didn't have to work today so he does have a point."
"Max, don't mess with the lights since it took me hours to get the lighting on point for taking pictures."
Just then, Sara and Griffin arrived.
"Are we too early because I feel like we are?"
"Y'all right on time, thanks for comin'."
"Since my favorite people are here, I can't turn them down although I can't believe the fact that y'all closin' down. Blueridge won't be the same without Birchwood Ranch."
"Hey, none of that somber talk, tonight is gonna be about celebratin' and havin' fun!"
Just then, Amelia heard fussing at the front door.
"Get off me, boy, I ain't handicap!"
Luke helped Clint inside the house.
"Welcome home, Dad!"
Clint entered the house carefully as he looked around at everything and everyone.
"Never been so thrilled to be in my own house."
"Clint, can I get you a chair?"
"My old self woulda say, 'I can get my own chair to sit in so why do I need someone to get me a chair?'"
"Oh, I didn't mean..."
"But what the hell? New day, new Clint."
"Good, here you go."
She helped him over to a chair as he sat down.
"Thank you, Amelia. If you don't mind, I'm going to stay right here for the rest of the evening and enjoy myself."
Wyatt clinked the side of a glass with a fork, capturing everyone's attention.
"I'll like to thank y'all for comin' out and I just want to say a few words."
"More fun, less talkin'!"
"I promise to keep it short and loving, Max but anyways, it's heartbreaking when an era is ending but it's important to be fortunate for those who made it possible in the first place so I'd like to say thank you to my amazing family, friends, and team who kept this ranch running all these years."
Everyone raised their glasses.
"And here's to the next chapter of our lives."
"Let's dance! Theresa, gimme some music."
Theresa played a song on her phone speakers as everyone started dancing.
"Amelia, come dance with me!"
"I was just about to ask her!"
"I have plenty of time but first, I'm gonna dance with Max."
"I'm the best dancer in the room unless anyone can disagree with that."
"Sounds like a challenge, let's see what you got."
Max broke into some funny but impressive dance moves.
"Wow, I don't know what you call that but those some nice moves right there!"
"Thanks!"
"I don't think I can go up against that."
