I was woken up by my phone ringing on the night stand. The whole room was lit up by the Miami sun and I not having it. I groaned and lifted my head off the pillow and reached out for my phone. I didn't recognize the number and Sonny mumbled something and flipped so his back was to me.

"Hello?" I answered probably sounding like a man.

"Hello. Is this a Miss. Baylee? I'm calling about a potential warehouse venue in the LA area." A lady answered and I frowned not wanting to deal with this but I didn't really have any other options.

"Yes." I said climbing out of bed and grabbing a pen and notepad. We discussed all the details and I told her I wasn't going to give the green light on anything until I saw it myself which wouldn't be for a few more days at least.

By the time that was done all I wanted to do was throw my phone out the window and climb into bed again. Red eye flights are the definition of death. As soon as I put my phone down it went off with a text. This time I let out a growl and picked it up seeing a text from Mason saying he was here with his room number. I heard Sonny sigh loudly but continued to sleep with his back to me. I ignored it and put my phone on silent before throwing the covers over my head and getting cozy again.

When I opened my eyes again I was alone in the room. I grabbed my phone and checked the time only to see that it was halfway through the day. I sprang up and threw the covers off wondering where Sonny had gone. I didn't have any texts from anyone so I was feeling lost.

I decided to shower and get ready for the day. That took me about an hour and I by the time I was showered and dressed, I still didn't have any texts from anyone. I texted both Mason and Sonny asking where they were. Mason texted back instantly saying he was getting coffee but that he would meet me in the lobby in ten minutes. I headed down the lobby and waited for Mason.

He walked in a few minutes later holding an iced coffee. "She's alive!" He teased taking a sip. "I thought you were going to sleep all day." He came and sat next to me.

"I wasn't really planning on it, yet here I am." I told him and he handed me his ice coffee. I took a sip before giving it back. "Have you seen Sonny anywhere?" I asked him after looking at my phone and seeing he hadn't responded.

"I ran into him this morning for a little bit but he didn't tell me where he was headed." Mason said and I nodded before he launched into work talk. We were dragging all the beach balls and beer pong tables down to the venue. They had a private pool area for us so we were going to set them up there and then throw out some of the beach balls during Sonny's set.

We decided to get lunch before heading over to the venue. As we were getting lunch Sonny finally texted me back.

"Working." Was all it said and I raised an eyebrow at the lack of a response but tried not to think too much of it. As soon as we sat down, Mason started throwing questions at me.

"So tell me about this tattoo man?" He shot and my mood instantly sunk.

"He's a fucking dick." I told him, heated.

"How do you know him? Who is he?" He kept questioning.

"She dated him in college. His name is Dan and he's the biggest dick I've ever met. He treated her like shit so I don't know why she'd agree to meet with him again." I explained. "Seriously, he's a sleezeball. He's always looking at other girls and he made a lot of nasty comments to me when she wasn't in the room. I hate him." I went on.

"Nasty comments like what?" Mason asked.

"Like would come on to me and then when I would tell her she wouldn't believe me and then he would like get mad that I wasn't having it and then would call me nasty names and he even threatened me like two times. He's not a good person." Just thinking about all the times he stood in our dorm or apartment just staring at me with this sleezy look.
