It had been months since Sonny left early that morning. We still talked but it wasn't like it used to be. He was busy literally all the time and he was getting ready to drop his second EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. It was the one he had me listening to all while he was here. I was excited for him but I missed how much we used to talk.

Kristen was a few months along now, to the point where she had a bump going. Todd had panic attacks for about two weeks and then I don't know what kind of epiphany he had but he woke up one day and decided he was going to be there and be the best dad for his kid. He even started taking double shifts to bring in more money. I was actually pretty proud of him. Kristen was beyond excited to have a baby. I was a little skeptical about it just because I can't picture myself being excited about having a a baby with someone I've only known for a month or two. But to each their own.

I threw myself into work. I was planning multiple events at once. I was running all over LA to different venues or to pick up supplies from a store. My parents were planning on coming out in a few weeks with my older sister and I knew I wasn't going to work much when they were here so I was cramming as much in as I could.

I was waiting at a fabric store for my order to get finished when my phone started ringing. I dug it out of my purse thinking it was work and was totally thrown off to see Sonny's name flashing on the screen.

"Hello?" I answered. All I heard was muffled ruffling sounds for a few seconds. "Hello?" I asked again.

"Yeah, Baylee. Sorry, I dropped the phone. Got a second?"

I saw the lady putting my order together on the counter and knew I would need two hands to drag all this to my car.

"Actually can I call you back in literally two minutes."

"Yeah." And I hung up. I'm sure I looked like an absolute mess trying to balance all the fabrics to my car. The little old lady who got my order ready offered to help but I felt bad so I told her I got it...obviously I didn't have it.

I managed to get it all in the trunk though and slammed it shut. I was feeling pretty good when I pulled my phone back out to call Sonny back as I got behind the wheel.

"Hey! Now do you have a second?" He asked.

"Yes. I'm good. What's up?"

"We are doing a big party in LA soon for the new EP. You gotta be there." He said. He was talking in that voice I recognized as being his excited one. Like when he spoke about his music.

"Of course. When is this happening?" He gave me the details and it was the same night my parents got here.

"Uhh...I think I can go....yeah. It'll be fine."

"Don't sound too excited." He said.

"Sorry, my parents get here that day but it shouldn't be an issue. I'll be there. Can I bring people?" I ask.

"Of course! Bring as many as you can!"

"Cool. Thanks for the invite."

We hung up and I went back to working all day. I went through a routine for about a week. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. I had a big event this weekend and I was in charge of making sure everything ran smoothly so that's the only thing that was getting me through this week of work.

Time passed and Kristen went to the doctors and found out she's having a girl. She's ecstatic. Todd's a little bummed it's not a little boy but he's already talking about his little baby girl so I think he's over it.

I was having the best month ever so far. It was nothing but good news for me. Between Kristen having a healthy pregnancy so far and Todd being happy about the baby and then all the events I had been busting my ass for went so smoothly I was getting nothing but praises from my bosses. Then my parents and sister fly in today and Sonny's party was tonight.
