thirsty teachers

they have a new routine and it works great. during weekdays, seulgi takes yeji to her kindergarten class every morning before work, while jaebeom stays home with hyunjin. in the early afternoon, jaebeom picks up yeji from school, and then drops her and hyunjin off at yerim's, irene's sister and their favorite babysitter, before he heads to work. seulgi picks the kids up after her shift and heads home. jaebeom takes a late break from work to come home and eat dinner with them, and depending on the business at the restaurant he'll either stay home or head back to help out.

it's working for them, gives them both time with the kids and time with each other. the weekends are better, seulgi's off of work then and because of that jaebeom sacrifices going to the restaurant though he does sneak away to be the scary boss when he can. (the joy of being owner, you make your own schedule)

it's friday night, and business is good so jaebeom decides that the weekend is starting early. he switches it up, and volunteers to take yeji to school in the morning so seulgi can sleep in a bit and head to work at her own leisure. he had some leftovers from the restaurant the night before and packs it away in lunches for both his wife and daughter after he makes their breakfast. he leaves that morning with seulgi enjoying a cup of tea and the omelette he made for her, taking the kids. "i'll see you later, babe. remember tonight's date night." he comments as yeji hugs her mother goodbye. when it's his turn, he steals a bunch of kisses and a bite of her breakfast.

"i know! i can't wait. also, don't forget that after school today, you have to talk to her teacher about her performance. it shouldn't take long, it's just a standard parent/teacher thing." seulgi states, walking them to the door.

"gotcha. have a good day."

yeji's day is split between two classrooms. she has one teacher in the morning, then after lunch they go to another teacher. jaebeom's used to her afternoon teacher sohee kim, and he has only met her morning teacher jina choi a few times. reaching her classroom, jaebeom greets the other parents and helps yeji put her things away into her designated cubbie, telling her to have a good day and enjoy the lunch he packed for her. he kneels down to her level, "alright, say bye to hyunjin." yeji hugs her younger brother, and then her father before running off to see her friends and brag about how cute her baby brother is. jaebeom picks hyunjin up then, preparing to leave but is stopped by her teacher. "long time no see, jaebeom." jina greets, "i'm used to seulgi dropping yeji off."

"yeah, i thought i would give her a break."

"who's this handsome boy?" jina wonders, poking hyunjin's belly. hyunjin turns, resting his head on jaebeom's shoulder. "still sleepy?"

"no, just shy." jaebeom laughs.

"how are things at home?"

"fine?" jaebeom raises an eyebrow. is she hinting at something?

"you know, the other day i was going through some of my old things... and did you know, we actually went to school together."

"we did?"

"yes! second year in college, we shared a literature class. small world, right?" jaebeom wracks his brain, trying to think back to second year in college, a decade ago, and all that really comes up is skipping class to fuck seulgi in her dorm room while her roommates were gone.

"yeah, small world indeed." he settles on replying.

"i was on the volleyball team with seulgi, and i was so shocked when i confessed to her about my crush and she was sleeping with you. funny, right?"

"...right..." this is awkward.

"but those days are so far in the past. i'm so done with that phase." jina forces out a laugh, and jaebeom wonders if she's really over it. he forces a smile anyway.
