eighteen weeks

"they say the baby is as big as an artichoke." seulgi tells jaebeom as she scrolls on her phone. "next week it's supposed to be a mango... and then a banana, and then an endive and leaky boobs." she sighs, putting her phone down and opening a bag of sweet potato flavored snacks.

"leaky boobs, huh?" jaebeom states from where he's looking at apartment listings on the internet, "sounds messy."

"yeah... at twenty-two weeks i lose my cute belly button, and it becomes an 'outtie'... that's also when my sex drive is supposed to spike."

"got it... take off work for a few days when you hit twenty-two weeks to satisfy your needs." he teases, "what do you think about this one?"

"i don't like that kitchen."

"interesting, seeing as you don't cook."

"doesn't mean i have to deal with an ugly kitchen." seulgi states, feeding him some of her snack, "why are we looking at new apartments anyway? i like this one."

"i hate to say it, but your dad made a point... this place is too small for three kids."

"but moving is stressful, and that doesn't mix well with expectant mothers."

"yeah, but we'll do everything we can to make it as stress-free as possible." jaebeom smiles, "just think about it, we felt cramped fitting hyunjin's baby stuff in here... which is why we got rid of everything once he outgrew it and now have to start fresh."

"yeah... i guess you're right there."

"a bigger place is better for us all... and you get to redecorate our bedroom which you apparently hate."

"i did the best for the space we have now." seulgi corrects, "but you're convincing me... as long as it's stress free then fine. but i don't know how you'll keep it stress free, i'm almost at the half way mark. we'd have to move out quickly."

"we'll hire help, it'll be okay. i promise." jaebeom states, turning to kiss her briefly on the lips. seulgi sighs into it, before going back to her snack. "we should wake up the kids now... and take yeji to school."

"what's for breakfast?"

"what do you want?"

"eggs and spam?"

"okay."

yeji is easy to wake up today, while hyunjin still sleeps. jaebeom finds it funny, and holds hyunjin, letting the toddler use his shoulder as a pillow while helping yeji wash her face and brush her teeth. "look at you, becoming an expert at the one handed parenting." seulgi teases as she comes in to do yeji's hair. it's picture day, so seulgi puts cute flower accessories in yeji's hair.

"i'm going to start breakfast... the ultimate test is can i still cook a full meal with only one hand."

"i believe in you, daddy." seulgi teases, earning a saucy look from jaebeom, who walks over and whispers into her ear.

"say that again, later when the kids are away."

as jaebeom cooks, hyunjin wakes up but is too comfortable to want to be put down, he deals with it, expertly cracking the eggs with one hand and whisking them together to make an omelette with spam and chopped veggies. yeji comes running in after, "look at what momma did to my hair!"

"wow, it looks so pretty princess."

"you should take lessons, appa."

"maybe momma can teach me tonight."
