a/n: so, we're ending this one with a bang, literally. they bone.

"hey, wake up." jaebeom complains, gently coaxing seulgi onto her back, she whines swatting at him.

"let me sleep."

"it's your birthday, it's time to party so wake up!" he mocks her whining as he peppers kisses against her cheeks. "seriously, wake up honey."

"i'm up." she states, squishing jaebeom's cheeks. "why can't i sleep in today?"

"i got you something..."

"and it couldn't wait?"

"nope, i wanted some time with you to myself before the kids take you away."

"you'd get that time tonight."

"we'll be spending that time doing other things, exercising, not talking."

"what do you want to talk about?"

"how are you feeling? i know the big three-oh was a little scary for you."

"i feel better. it's inevitable... and well... you helped make it a bit easier."

"i did?"

"yeah, you're like... five times hotter since you've entered your thirties. you exude this 'i got my shit together' aura and confidence that i'm admiring and extremely turned on by. plus, i talked it out with irene who also made me less nervous about it."

"hmm... we're already married so this can't be a proposal, right?"

"i guess technically no." he agrees, opening the box and revealing the ring.

"beom! this looks so expensive!"

"i know, i got a good deal." he shrugs, taking her left hand and removing the engagement ring and wedding band already there and replacing it with the new set. "it's something i wanted to do for a while now..."

"the old one was fine... though this is nice too. really nice actually." seulgi agrees, holding up her hand to closer examine the rings. the ring itself is a simple oval shape with micro-diamonds surrounding it, and the band is actually two with an intricate design that helps surround the oval shaped ring in a flashy yet tasteful way.

"well

"well.. when we first got married, i couldn't afford something super flashy, so we stuck with a simple boring band and a single round stone, right? it makes sense, i had just graduated college, you were still in veterinary science and we were expecting yeji. now, that we're more established in our careers, have a comfortable amount of wealth, i thought it was time to finally get the ring that i think you deserve."
