january 6th

"happy birthday appa!!" yeji and hyunjin scream, jumping on the bed as jaebeom starts to wake. a smile comes to his lips though he wishes he could have slept a little longer. he sits up, enveloping then both in a tight hug.

"thank you so much, you two!"

"we have a present for you. open it." yeji tells him, giving him a box. jaebeom carefully undoes the wrapping and opens the box. inside is a new chef's coat, with his name stitched into the breastplate.

"thank you so much! just what appa wanted." he gushes kissing them both on their heads. "the best gift ever."

"we also drew you pictures."

"where are they? i want to see them." jaebeom states watching them jump off the bed and scurry out of the room. they almost run into seulgi, giggling madly.

"be careful." she warns them as she walks over carrying two month old jeongin. "happy birthday, hubby!" she greets, walking over and taking a seat as he takes jeongin from her.

"thank you." he smiles, bouncing jeongin in his lap.

"jeongin says happy birthday too." seulgi coos.

"thank you too, buddy!" jaebeom smiles as jeongin focuses on his face and mimics the smile. "he's growing too fast."

"i know... i can't believe time flew by so quickly." seulgi sighs, "so... gift!" she reaches into their bedside table and pulls out a small box. jaebeom cradles jeongin closer, opening the gift with his free hand and revealing a new watch.

"ooh, look who spent money on me." he teases, as seulgi puts it on his right wrist for him.

"it's flashy, just how you like it." she laughs, "you do like it right?"

"yeah, i do. it's great, thank you, love." he leans forward to kiss her. "i can't believe i'm thirty."

"you're officially an old man."

"thanks babe."

"but you're a handsome one! and successful, three kids and one going on two restaurants under your belt. not to mention you have an extremely hot wife."

"yes... my wife is pretty hot." he plays along, "speaking of hot... should birthday sex be expected tonight?"

"if baby sticks to his routine and sleeps properly and on time tonight... maybe."

"how are you feeling by the way?"

"i feel really good! no postpartum depression in sight."

"that's good to hear, babe."

"mhm, i'm in a better headspace after this baby, and you staying home with me for the first two weeks really helped. i'm not sure if i'm ready to go back to work yet though..."

"don't want to leave jeongin?"

"yeah... i'm not ready, and maybe he's not ready either." seulgi says tickling his stomach and making him laugh.

"i think he's ready." jaebeom tells her, "he's an independent little man." he presses kisses against jeongin's cheek, until the baby gets a bit fussy. "is he hungry?"

"yeah, it's time for breakfast..." seulgi says, taking him from jaebeom.

"appa! look!" yeji calls out as she and hyunjin reenter with sheets of paper in their hands.

"they're really excited to show you..." seulgi laughs as she begins to breastfeed jeongin.

"this is amazing!" jaebeom calls out, looking at the two drawings. hyunjin's is a bunch of colorful squiggles while yeji has stick figures in fancy clothes.
