three is the magic number

when seulgi's alarm goes off, jaebeom expects her to get it, but when she doesn't stir, he groans, reaching over her to turn it off. "doctor kang... it's time to get up." he teases, wrapping his arms around her.

"no...." she groans and he frowns.

"what's wrong?"

"i feel like crap." she whines and jaebeom smooths some hair out of her face. "i can't go into work. i can't even move from bed."

"should i stay home and take care of you?" she nods her head, "okay, i'll get yeji ready and drop her off, call your receptionist, and ask yerim if she'll watch hyunjin for a bit." jaebeom presses a slew of kisses against her cheek. "just rest for now, okay?"

"okay.... but beom?"

"hm?"

"don't try to experiment with yeji's hair anymore.... she didn't like it last time."

"and she couldn't tell me that?"

"she didn't want to hurt your feelings." seulgi giggles lightly.

"fine... we'll stick to safe pigtails." he admits, a little disappointed.

getting the kids ready for school isn't hard, and he feeds them a healthy breakfast before dropping them off. he does have to pry cuddly babies away from their mother because yeji was determined to stay home and play sick too if seulgi was doing it, while hyunjin just adores seulgi. it took a lot of convincing to get yeji to want to go to school instead. on the drive to drop hyunjin off to yerim, he calls the animal hospital and informs them of seulgi's absence, her receptionist sooyoung, also known as joy, reveals that she thinks seulgi's pregnant, and jaebeom doesn't deny or admit. he stops by the store to purchase a few at home test kits, and then makes it back to his wife.

seulgi's up and moving when he gets back, eating breakfast he made for the kids and left for her. "you feeling any better?"

"not really." she admits, "i probably shouldn't eat because i think i might vomit it all up, but whatever." jaebeom walks over, pressing kisses against her forehead. "what's in the bag?"

"some at home tests."

"how many did you get?"

"three.."

"you want me to strategically pee on three sticks?" seulgi teases, grabbing the bag from him.

"well... i don't know, i wanted a sure answer."

"i'm kidding, baby." she stands from her seat, "time to find out the truth."

"do you need help?"

"unlike hyunjin, i have mastered the art of using the restroom myself."

"i didn't mean it like that." jaebeom laughs, pinching her butt as she turns to leave him. "i'll be here... finishing your food."

"go for it."

he's washing down his giant mouthfuls with lukewarm coffee when seulgi emerges, waving three sticks in the air. "look."

"i don't want to touch those... you peed on them."

"there's a cap over where i peed, and i washed them off too." seulgi complains as jaebeom looks over the three tests. all three stated the same thing 'positive'.

"oh shit." jaebeom exclaims, a huge smile breaking out on his face before scooping seulgi into his arms. "baby.... wow... we're.... wow." he peeks down at her belly. it's too soon to start showing probably, but there's a baby in there, proof of their love. "how are you feeling? talk to me."
