a/n: oh yeah, cash in those votes. is seulgi having a girl or a boy?

coming back from the store, jaebeom finds both kids facing opposite walls and crying. he looks at seulgi, who's reading a magazine and sipping tea. "is this ignoring the crying thing becoming a norm?" he wonders, walking over and putting his bags down into the counter.

"they're in time out."

"what did they do?"

"for fighting."

"again?" jaebeom sighs, the more and more yeji fights with hyunjin, the more he worries about bringing a third kid into the mix.

"yep, so now they're in time out to think about what they've done." seulgi looks down at her phone for the time, "hyunjin's time is up though." she gets out of her seat and walks over to their son. "hyunjin? you can go sit down now." she tells him, kneeling down to his level. hyunjin frowns, wrapping his arms around her and seulgi picks him up, kissing his forehead.

"you know, i'm not used to sibling rivalry." jaebeom states, taking hyunjin from her and tossing him in the air.

"of course you're not. you were an only child." seulgi states, "i'm not sure how my parents dealt with my brother and i fighting but our fights were more bickering. these two love shoving each other."

"i hope they behave tonight when my mom comes over for dinner." jaebeom shrugs, setting hyunjin down on the counter.

"momma?" the toddler questions and it causes jaebeom to still. is his son actually using words? hyunjin points to the fridge. "juice?"

"you want to have some juice?" seulgi states slowly, letting the words sink in. hyunjin nods.

"i want juice." he repeats and jaebeom's heart feels full. this is progress. this is great.

"i'll get it." jaebeom volunteers happily. "you did so good hyunjin! you used your words!" he pours a bit of orange juice into a cup handing it over to hyunjin and carefully monitoring how he drinks it. they're trying to get him out of sippy cups, watching him grow up before their eyes. of course he tips the cup too much, juice flowing too quickly and jaebeom takes it away as hyunjin quickly swallows and coughs before laughing for some reason. the kid almost chokes, and he laughs it off... weird.

"yeji's time is up." seulgi notices, getting up to relieve yeji from her punishment. "yeji, did you have time to think about what you did?" yeji nods as seulgi kneels to her level, reaching to play with her mother's hair out of guilt for pushing her brother again. "you have to stop bullying hyunjin, you could hurt him one day." seulgi tells her softly. "if he makes you mad, next time tell me or your dad and we'll come over and fix it, okay?"

"okay. i'm sorry, momma." yeji hugs her tight and seulgi tells her that's she's forgiven before giving her a kiss too.

"why don't you go and get some juice from appa?" yeji skips over to her father, who lifts her up and greets her, asking for her to apologize to hyunjin too. yeji does so, hugging her brother and kissing his cheek while hyunjin offers her his cup of juice. "they're so cute." seulgi gushes, "what's for dinner tonight?"

"what do you want?"

"galbi jjim!" seulgi requests, rubbing her tummy, "this is the baby's request, not mine."

"of course it is." he laughs. "are you kids ready to see your grandma?"

"yes!" yeji exclaims, clapping her hands, hyunjin mimicks her.
