Chapter 7

Today is the day! Me and Tom's first date! It's been two days since the whole sex tape catastrophe but surprisingly that day ended quite nicely. Tom obviously told Harrison about me and him kissing because Haz was very excited about the idea of me and Tom being a thing. We're not there yet though. Tom texted me last night asking me out and of course I said yes. I'm kind of freaking out a bit though. I mean technically this is a forbidden love. And when you think of that you think of Romeo and Juliet. And if we do fall in love I don't want it to end badly like that. Obviously not the whole death thing but I can see myself being married to Tom. And having kids and grandkids. I feel like it won't happen though. Because it can't. Because my parents won't allow it. It's forbidden.

I invited Talia round to help me get ready for my first date with Tom.

"Ahhh I'm so excited for you! It's gonna be amazing and who knows maybe by the end of tonight you'll have a boyfriend??" Talia says excitedly but also has a tone of sadness in her voice.

"I don't know. I mean I probably wouldn't go as far as to say he'd ask me to be his girlfriend." I say playing with my hair trying to decide what to do with it.

"Would you say yes?" She asks intrigued.

"Huh?" I asked turning round to her.

"If he asked you to be his girlfriend." She says with a glimpse of excitement in her eyes.

"I think so. I mean it all seems a bit rushed. Don't you think? Last week we hadn't seen each other in five years and now we're going on a date and might be boyfriend and girlfriend." I say getting rushed with my words.

"You can never rush love. If it is love. Rushing into things always works out, as long as you're sure." She says with a gentle tone and looks down with her fingers that she is playing with. Talia never does this unless she's upset.

"Tals are you okay?" I ask rushing over to sit next to her on my bed.

"Yeah I'm fine." She sniffs and still doesn't look up.

"Nice try. I know when you're upset." I say and nudge her. She sighs.

"Me and Mike broke up." She says and a tear rolls down her face.

"What?" I ask in a shocked tone. "What happened?" I asked gently.

"It just didn't work out. We realised that we weren't right for each other. But I liked him. I wanted to be with him." She says and wipes a tear from her face.

"Well if he just dumped you like that then he obviously wasn't right for you. Hey look at me." I say and Talia finally looks up at me. "He doesn't deserve you. And we will find you someone much much better than him okay?" I ask trying to make her feel better.

"Okay." She says and half smiles at me.

"Oh also I don't have to go on that date tonight if you don't want me to. I can stay with you and me and Tom can go out another night. I'm sure he'll understand." I say already getting out my phone to tell him.

"What?? No! Are you crazy??" She asks.

"Um well I-" I say confused but she interrupts.

"You are going on that date tonight! Don't worry about me I'll be fine. I want you to be happy. And I think you and Tom have great potential you know?" She says and winks at me. I laugh and then go back to getting ready. I decide (with Talia's help) to curl my hair. I put on a short black skirt and a nice white top. Talia does my makeup and then I do hers just for fun.

"Okay I think I'm ready." I say and smile at my bestie.

"You look it! Oh and don't forget your handbag!" She says as she hands over my black clutch.
