Some of you guys really hate Bryce. lol. I keep making that worse too. lol Vote Comment. Thanks.
Bryce had returned in time for her awakening, which felt as if it were a too long nap too her. Her whole body had felt...bad. She wouldn't have described it as her being in pain, per say, but everything just felt off and no...maybe a little painful.
She had opened her eyes to a ceiling but had turned her head upon hearing movement. Bryce sat there next to her, covered head to toe in blood. It should have alarmed her, but it didn't. Her mind was too sluggish to hang to tightly on any emotion or thought. She felt something was off but she couldn't identify what.
Bryce stared at her, his blood splattered face a type of blank that made her want to sit up and ask what was wrong, but she couldn't move her body. Realizing she couldn't move should have also alarmed her but it was merely a passing concern.
She stared at Bryce who stared back at her and a moment passed. A tear trickled down Bryce's otherwise empty face and it had quickly been followed by dozens more. He didn't bother to wipe them away and his lack of expression remained until his eyes fluttered shut tightly and his chin dipped down. His shoulders dropped and his whole body just seemed to have been...freed?
Her mouth moved to ask...something... but her voice was much like her body and wouldn't work how she wanted it too at times.
That had been a month ago and eventually Krissy did get over the sluggishness plaguing her body and she did learn what happened. She, Tony, and Luigi Mercia were poisoned by one of Luigi Mercia's enemies, who had been able to somehow poison the seasoning used on the lamb they had for dinner that night.
She was the sole survivor. Tony died.
Tony died...Tony died...
Krissy gritted her teeth and shook the thought from her head as she focused on her therapist's encouraging words as she struggled just to take one more step even with the help of the wooden bars on either side of her.
Sweat dotted her brow and she just couldn't comprehend why it was so hard. She had been walking since she was ten months old...
Tony had only gone to dinner because she didn't want to do it alone if she had just...
Krissy's cry of frustration echoed though the work out room and tears sprang to her eyes. "Shit!" She cursed voice weak, cords still damaged because of the same poison that didn't kill her but took a lot from her none the less. The doctor had told her Maria had apparently been secretly building her resilience to poisons by exposing her to them little by little. Krissy hadn't been aware but...it had saved her life. Maria had indirectly saved her life. Krissy shivered at the thought.
The doctor also had so many big words for her, but really, what it all came down too was a fucked up stomach, coughing spells, exhaustion, and the need to learn how to do basic shit all over again.
Krissy couldn't understand. She really couldn't understand why bad stuff kept happening to her. Had she really been such a bad person before Maria had taken them to deserve everything that came after?
"I think that's enough for today." Her therapist said careful not to show her pity but Krissy could see past the soft, kind smile.
"No!" She huffed out as she attempted to take another step only for her knees to give out on her. She caught herself on the bars to keep from hitting the ground.
"Ms. Krissy!"
"I think that is enough for today. Glory is right."
Krissy looked up at her new body guard who stood in the doorway of the room and frowned, lips pressed into a stubborn frown. She hated the woman standing in the doorway for many reasons.
