"How was your trip?"
Krissy looked over her shoulder at Bryce and smiled. He stood in the center of her room having once again entered without knocking or anything. "It was fun." She turned around fully holding a deep blue shirt in her hands. "To add a drop of color in your life. I diffidently got the right size this time."
He closed the distance between them and took the shirt. He began to unbutton his black one. "What did you do?" He asked innocently.
Krissy shrugged. "We went shopping."
He shrugged the shirt off letting it hit the floor before shouldering on the blue one she had gotten him. "That's all? I doubt that's all."
She reached for the buttons of his shirt and began to button them. Bryce stiffened. "Relax, I'm not touching you." She continued to work on the buttons, not meeting his eyes. "We went to a club...it was weird." Almost to the last button her fingers stilled and she frowned as she ran a thumb over his scarred neck.
"Krissy..."
She removed her finger and finished the job, buttoning the last button. "Sorry..." She took a step back.
He was quiet for a moment. "Weird, how?"
She laughed lightly at herself. "I'm not use to being around so many people yet I guess. Maria's parties were more formal and no one ever offered to buy me a drink. I keep forgetting that when we first got here I was sixteen but going to that club reminded me because I wasn't old enough to even get in back then. Yesterday was my first time experiencing anything like that."
"Someone offered to buy you a drink?"
She shrugged. "Yeah a few guys, which is another thing. I kept getting hit on my actual men, like grown men and it took me awhile to wrap my head around the fact that I wasn't sixteen anymore." She sat heavily on her bed. Bryce merely frowned at her. "But as for Isabella, she was cool I guess. She seemed mostly interested in you though, so I'm pretty sure that's her motive. I told her you like lemon cake so when she bakes you one, don't make me a liar."
"I hate lemons." He deadpanned.
Krissy chortled. "I know." She smiled brightly. "And the shirt fits." He turned to the mirror in her room to see for himself and she watched his back, her smile fading. "When are we going to go have that fun you promised?"
"Did I promise...?"
"Bryce!"
"I'm joking and I'm also working on it."
She shook her head at him when he looked back at her. She scooted back on her bed before flopping back on her bed. "Are you sleeping in here, tonight?"
"No," he picked up his discarded shirt from the floor. "You should change into pajamas."
"Thanks, daddy, I'll be sure to do that."
He laughed making her lift her head to look at him. "Goodnight, Krissy." He headed for the door.

Krissy's favorite place in the house was the green house, it was where she grew most of the plants needed for her poisons. It wasn't as impressive as Maria's had been yet, but she had been able to transfer a lot of the plants over a year ago when they moved to this house. She hadn't meant to keep up with the skill Maria had taught her but she just had.
Only a few people had the code to the green house which made it the perfect place for her to do what she was doing under the guise of watering the plants. She flicked one of the dark green leaves of one of her plants with her finger before she dug her cell phone from her pocket and opened the recent text she had received.
"What are you doing, little lady?"
Krissy jumped and whirled around to face her bodyguard. "You keep scaring me like that, Ton, and you'll find yourself shitting your pants for a whole day straight!" She forgot the man was one of the other two people who had the code to her greenhouse, he and Bryce. They both avoided it though, and she knew the place made them uncomfortable.
"You're evil, little lady." He held up his hands. He glanced down at the phone in her hands. "You wouldn't happen to be texting that man who asked for your number a few nights ago are you?"
Krissy was quiet at first before she found her resolve. "And what if I am?"
Tony smiled briefly. "He needs to be vetted."
"I know that." She agreed easily. "I was just wondering if maybe we could do that without Bryce's input or knowing?" She smiled sweetly.
He was unmoved. "Very funny, but no. I'm sure Bryce will be perfectly understanding and reasonable about this and have no problem with you seeing this young man if everything checks out with him." There was a beat of silence before Tony laughed. "I took it too far didn't I?"
"Yeah, you lost me completely when you said something about Bryce being reasonable." Krissy laughed.
"We both know he'll be anything but reasonable but I have to tell him. I don't want him digging my eye balls out with a spoon...I've seen him do that before, not pretty." Krissy grimaced at the glimpse of the part of Bryce she knew was there but he hid from her. "So just talk to him. He has to know you wouldn't want to be lonely forever just sitting around waiting on his ass." Krissy grimaced again.
"Remind me not to tell you things anymore." She said. "So when are you going to tell him?"
"As soon as he's back. You can text the guy just don't go out giving your address out."
She rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't do that."
"Just making sure."
