Chapter 9

After my last dive I pushed myself out of the pool and came face to face with a smiling Tom. I had barely got up before he gathered me up into his arms and spun me around saying "You did it! I'm so proud of you!" I just hugged back harder and nearly cried, the excitement of the day was just too much. Tom pulled away and saw my face, he looked at me and just hugged me again, then he led me to the changing rooms. I was in no hurry to get changed so I dried comfortably and slipped my clothes on glancing in the mirror I gathered my hair up into a bun and I didn't feel the need to wear makeup with Tom, with any other guy I would but somehow he made me feel comfortable no matter what I looked like. I saw him waiting for me outside and strolled up smiling he turned, saw me and offered his arm I gladly took it and said honestly "Tom thank you so much. I know I keep saying it but really thank you, it couldn't have been better even if I'd dreamt it!" He just squeezed my arm and said "My pleasure Lily-Rose." The way he said my name just made my stomach twist. I never believed people when they said they felt butterflies or fireworks but I was feeling something and butterflies were the closest way of describing it. We walked back to my car and got in, after it all I was exhausted... And it was only 11:30am! We drove in comfortable silence back and soon we approached his house "Say hi to your family for me!" I said, he turned towards me blushing slightly and said "Umm Lily? Well... Umm... I was just wondering if you'd well... Like me to take you diving some other time too? I mean only if you want!" He hurriedly finished. "Tom," I cut the engine and turned to where he was fiddling with the seat "I'd love too." He breathed a sigh of relief, and uttered "Good." Before leaning closer... Hesitating a bit before kissing my cheek softly and quickly exciting the car. My cheek was burning and my blushes were creeping in.
