Chapter 18

(In third-person perspective)

As Paige goes into a deep conversation with Jordan, she didn't notice she was slowly getting unconscious of her surroundings. All she ever knew was that she ordered a glass of mango-banana smoothie and not how the hell she got tipsy after she finished the glass.

She became naïve to what was happening. Everything around her went blurry and all she wanted to do is lie down on her bed. The conversation between her and Jordan died slowly until her eyes eventually closed. She never thought smoothies worked like this. She thought not all drinks at the bar were alcoholic, but she was wrong.

Jordan tried to shake her awake. Paige only responded with a groan since her eyes were already shut and her body was already in a state of rest. Jordan tried to wake her up again but Paige didn't reply anymore. By this time, Jordan took the chance to grab Paige and carry her out of the bar. He thought no one whom she knows was there to see what he was doing but, no.

Trevor saw the whole thing. He saw how Jordan put something in her drink while she was out. He even caught him whispering something to the bartender before they created her drink.

Trevor was right about what he and Diane had felt about Jordan. They felt the vibe from him since they noticed Jordan kept on chasing Paige around and somehow tore her away from the group. It wasn't just that - it was also the looks he had given to Trevor and her other friends.

Trevor followed where Jordan was carrying Paige to with his arms crossed. He quietly trailed behind them and waited until Jordan got to his room and laid Paige on his white queen-sized bed.

Jordan stood and admired Paige for a little while before he took the hem of his shirt and lifted it halfway when Trevor cleared his throat while leaning against the door frame. He did it with class. No wonder why girls would die for him.

"I believe this isn't her room," Trevor spoke, checking his nails as if uninterested. "And I believe she isn't supposed to be here."

Jordan turned around to face Trevor who already got off the doorframe whose hands were already down onto his sides. "Contrary to your beliefs, you should go mind your own business."

Trevor chuckled once and shook his head. "I am minding my own business and I'm here because she's a part of my business."

Jordan cringed, taking a step towards Trevor. "Why do you care? You're not even her boyfriend!"

Trevor's eyebrows knitted together in sarcasm. "Why do I care? It's because she's my employee and she's a lady!"

Jordan started to get irritated and nudged Trevor's shoulder. "Just go off to somewhere!" He huffed.

"I'm not going somewhere and let anyone be a victim of rape." Trevor stated in a monotone but in a powerful way.

Jordan couldn't hold his anger any longer anymore. He cracked his fingers and twisted his head as a quick warm up. He punched Trevor in the arm, making Trevor hit the doorframe beside him.

"You can't fight? You can't even dodge!" He boasted, advancing towards Trevor.

Trevor stood up straight despite how hard Jordan's hit was. He gave a smug smile before saying, "I don't think I need to brag what I learned in boxing. And besides, I'm an educated person. That already speaks to me."

Jordan rolled his eyes and glared at Trevor. He gave Trevor a punch on the cheek, busting his lips then blood started to drip down to his chin.
