Chapter 10
I never had an acquaintance with a boy - ever - well, except for my father and my brother and my other relatives. That didn't count.
Not that I don't like men and that I avoid men, it's just no one seems to approach me or even talk to me. In high school, I knew some guys but only by name and I only get to talk to them in group projects and such then that's it. Same thing has happened in college as well.
When I say I've never had an acquaintance with a boy before, that includes romantical feelings. I've never liked or had a crush on someone before so I don't know how it feels like to have one but I know how it feels like to see a hot guy. Wink.
I'm saying this because I'm never comfortable around men. And now, I'm here with a guy - a guy who's my employer - for a dinner.
As the waiter led us to our table, Trevor rushed to grab a seat and pulled it out, waiting for me to get nearer.
I stood a meter away and just stared at him. "Do I. . . ?" I asked, unsure of what to do.
"Yes," he already answered before I could continue further on my sentence.
"Oh," I realized, tilting my head back. "Oh, okay. Thanks." I said and sat on the chair, pulled it towards the table as Trevor sat on the other side.
The waiter came back after getting menus from the counter and gave us one each. "Here are the menus, Sir. Just call me if you're ready to order."
The waiter was someone I have seen before. He has blonde hair that stood towards the ceiling with slight brown streaks. His cheekbones were perfectly defined - like Jamie Campbell Bower's.
He's attractive too. But not as attractive as Trevor.
Trevor looks more of a professional and the waiter looks more of a college guy but I'd still prefer the waiter than Trevor because he has a really nice hair.
Also because I have more chance to that guy than to my boss who has a lot of girls chasing after him. Of course, I'd like a guy who doesn't have a lot of acquaintances and it would be really convenient too.
"So what do you choose?" Trevor cut the trail of my thoughts.
I looked at him. I realized I have been staring at the wide booklet in my hands. I dropped the menu on the table and shrugged. "I don't know."
He peered at me over the menu, stifling a smile. "There's no 'I don't know' here." He teased.
I scoffed and chuckled. "Anything. Just anything."
"I didn't see that here either." He teased again, cocking up an eyebrow.
I laughed and closed the booklet. "Okay, just get me some steak."
He smiled and closed his booklet as well. "There you go," he sighed and leaned back on his chair. "Waiter!"
The attractive waiter came back to us with a small notepad and a ballpen. "Have you decided what to get, sir?"
"Yes," Trevor answered and straightened his posture. "Two steaks and wine, please."
The waiter jotted down notes and I just stared at him.
It's Kurt Riley, my brother's best friend. Oh.
Do I hide? Does he remember me?
