When we arrive back to the apartment Jake and I sit on the couch. I silently tell Tobias to go away and he obeys.
"Hey, it'll be alright." I say in my best comforting voice.
"You say that every time, Mom." he replies.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"You said that when you and Dad had a huge fight and then he moved out for a month. You said that when Sally was born, now she has heart and lung disease. You say that now and I'm pretty sure it won't be alright." He says. I tear up.
"Look, I'm a mom. I lived in abnegation. My mom was the best mom I could have. I want to follow in her footsteps, but I don't know how. I'm still new at this. I'm trying my best to make y'all happy and you don't know how bad it hurts me and your father when y'all get hurt." I say.
"I'm sorry. It is just that I'm really scared for my sisters and brother." He says. I hug him.
"We will visit your sister later. Okay?" I say in my best comforting voice.
"Okay." he says. I slide my arm off his shoulders and walk out of the apartment.
I jump on the next train and think. I remember when I was having Sally-Anne. That was the worst day of our lives.

I hold my baby girl in my arms. Tobias is right next to me with Josh in his lap. Tori and Jake are on the other side of my hospital bed.
We named her Sally-Anne Marie because her name means Princess, a gift from God, and stubborn. She is our princess and our gift. The doctors told us she has a extremely small heart and her lungs just don't want to work that well. But The little, non helping breaths she takes tells is she is very stubborn.
Caleb bursts into the room.
"Beatrice." he says as he walks up to me. "She is precious." He holds her for a while then leaves.

I know who I want to talk to now. Caleb. I jump off the train at Erudite. I walk in and ask for Caleb's room number. Thirty four the guy says.
I walk up to Caleb's door and knock.

So I'm at my friends house. We were riding her buggy around her house and we were listing to Fall Out Boy on my phone. We were singing our hearts out. Then, her dad came out of the house and said, keep it down, people can hear y'all down the road, we live in the freaking middle of nowhere!, that is exactly what he said. 😂
