"Tobias, I have been meaning to talk to you about this for for a while, now." Tris says.
"Wh-what is it?" I stutter.
Tris and I never have really, really, really serious talks. Our only one was when I was asking her how she was amazing, if you know what I mean. She told me that she lost her virginity to Robert. It was a dare, and she couldn't back down. She was Abnegation then. She couldn't back down. It would have been selfish. One stupid rule.
"There is no need to be nervous. Well, maybe." Tris says.
"Really, the more you hold off, the more anxious I get." I say.
"Well, I think it would be good to get-" She starts.
"You think we need to get Sally a pink unicorn." I joke. "Jake a blue rabbit. Josh a black bear. And Tori a purple zebra." Tris smiles.
"No you idiot." Tris laughs. "Tobias, I love you." Tris walks up to me and wraps her arms around my neck. I place my hands on her waist. She smiles up at me, and I smile down at her.
"Tris, I love you." I say.
"I love you. That is why I'm going to suggest this." Tris replies while unwrapping her arms from my neck to back and sit and the island.
"What?" I ask anxiously.
"I think we need to get you fixed." she replies.
"What's wrong with me?" I'm nervous.
"No, not that kind of fixed. Like, you can't make any more babies fixed." she says. What in the world?
"No, I will not agree to getting my penis cut off." Hold it Tris.
"No you moron." she laughs. "I mean, they take a needle thing, stick in you, and snip the sperm duct so you can't make more babies. It is a surgery. It can go horribly wrong, but Will said if you agreed, he can do it. If you don't, there is another way." Tris explains rubbing her stomach.
"What's the other one?" I ask.
"They could knot my tubes together." Tris says putting he hand over her uterus.
"How do you know all of this?" I ask.
"Will." she says simply.
"So, say you get your tubes get crossed. Will you have to wait until your finished with this pregnancy?" I feel like I am quizzing Tris.
"Yes. Also, it would cost a lot more money for me than it would if you did it." she says.
"Okay, I'll do it. Will it hurt?" I ask nervously.
"Um, not right after, but maybe a few hours after the procedure it might be sore or it might hurt. I don't know. I'm not a guy, and I've never done this before." she says.
"Will it hurt you? If you got your tubes crossed?" I ask.
"I don't know. He didn't say that, but Will did say that I might have to stay in the hospital an extra day. Whereas you would be out the same day." she says.
"I'll take it in to consideration." I answer.
"Okay. I love you. I'm going to put the kids to bed then go to sleep. Goodnight." Tris pecks my lips.
"Love you, too. Goodnight." I say and start cleaning up the kitchen.
