I knock on Caleb's door. He opens it.
"Tris, what happened?" he asks as he hugs me. I didn't even realize that I started crying. I burry my head into his chest and start hiccuping.
"Okay. Okay." He says.
We have grown really close since I had Tori.
He takes me inside and we sit down on his couch.
"So what happened?" he asks again.
"Tori...was in....a train accident... She was seriously injured. *hiccup* And Jake told me that I just jinx our family when I say 'it will be okay.'" I start crying again.
"Hey. He doesn't mean it. He is just in shock. Okay? Everything is going to be okay. You can even stay here if you like." He says. I nod and duck my head into his arm. He comforts me. There is a knock on the door and Caleb answers it.
"Where is my mom?" Somebody asks. It sounds like Jake.
"Jake, she is here, but she needs some time. She is staying here for the night. Tell your dad that." Caleb replies.
"But she needs to come home. Josh is freaking out about her. He has to see her!" Jake says.
"Look, you can talk to her, but that is it. It isn't good for her to be stress." He says.
"What do you mean? What is wrong with her?" Jake asks.
"after she had Sally she has a medical condition. If she gets into too much stress she has to be hospitalized for a while." Caleb answers.
"Okay. I really want to see her." Jake replies. I hear footsteps and soon Jake is in my sight. He sits next to me and hugs me.
"Mommy, I'm so sorry." He tells me. He never calls me 'Mommy' unless he is scared.
