Keith| Choosing Him

Setting: Ever since the disappearance of your brother Shiro and longtime friend Keith, you focused entirely on succeeding in becoming a pilot, following in their footsteps. It wasn't long before you became a member of the MFE's, alongside your childhood friend James James. James has had an intense crush on you ever since he could remember. For years you began to wonder if the missing classmates and family member of yours would ever return. Then one day they did, and for weeks you guys all caught up. It wasn't a shock to the members of Voltron when you and Keith began dating and it wasn't long until James found out. Needless to say, he isn't happy about it.

Your P.O.V

I skipped down the hallway, a smile clear on my face as I made my way to the training grounds. Training wasn't what I was excited about though, it was seeing Keith, my now boyfriend. He and I had always been friends, way before Voltron and when he came back those feelings changed into something more, I'm just glad that he felt the same way.

"Hey!" I smiled going up to James and Nadia who were walking together, also going to train. It was that time of the day. All of us train together at least once a day, so we can work on being a team. All of us being Voltron and the MFE's.

James smiled widely at me, him and I had become close when they all disappeared. He was really there for me when I needed a friend and I consider him to be one of the people I'm closest to. I am forever grateful for his friendship. I haven't told him about Keith and me yet, mainly because he still hates the guy from all those years ago. I know that when I do, he will come around. James only wants to see me happy and once he knows Keith does just that, he'll understand.

At least that's what I keep telling myself to convince me to tell him sooner rather than later.

"Good morning." James smiled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders as he pulled me into a hug.

I quickly hugged him and then Nadia. She's not much a hugger, which makes it even better to torture her with it. "I can't believe we have to train with those guys." James sighed, him always not liking Voltron, more specifically Keith. I remember back when we were young and how it was always a competition between those two.

I playfully rolled my eyes as I bumped him with my elbow. "They're not so bad." I skipped ahead and began to walk backwards as I faced them. "Maybe if you weren't so stubborn and talked to them then you would realize that." I smiled, getting him to do the same as I spun around and hurried to the training grounds.

"Hey! Where are you going?" James called after me, confused as to why I am in such a rush.

I waved my hand over my head as I replied. "I'll see you there."

Third P.O.V

"Didn't you hear?" Nadia Rizavi asked James as Y/N left them. She knew why the female was in such a rush to get there. Lance only told her the news this morning.

He causally looked over to her, not in the mood to be hit with some random rumor. She had been doing it a lot lately, and he was over it. "Don't tell me another rumor you made up." He sighed, looking back to in front of him.

Nadia looked uncomfortable and bothered about the situation. She wanted to tell James what she just heard from a good source and by the way Y/N hurried to train it confirmed it. It's not a rumor she has, it's the truth.

She knew that James needed to know, concerning the way he feels about Y/N. It would devastate him, but he can't continue on not knowing. It wouldn't be fair to him. She took a deep breath, grabbing him by the arm to get him to stop. He looked annoyed but did as she asked, him wondering what has gotten her so worked up.
