I have an obsession.

Maybe it's because I'm writing a book based on this fairytale. Maybe it's due to watching the Disney film too many times (seriously, I can quote the entire movie).

But over the last couple years, I've watched as many adaptations of this story as I could find (and were decently appropriate of course. That's more of a problem with novels though, which I'll get to later).

Was it a waste of my time? Well, no. I counted it as research, because it's interesting to see different takes on this work and figure out who stole what from whom. Also, it's a great way to distract myself while doing Anatomy coloring and math homework. It's possible, I promise.

Would other people say it's a waste of my time? Yes. Obviously. Who wouldn't?

I'm willing to acknowledge that I have a problem. But because of my problem, you guys get a definitive ranking of every single adaptation I've ever watched.

Notable exceptions from this list include:

La Belle et Bete (1946) - Couldn't find an English subtitled version on YouTube, and I'm not yet fluent enough in Spanish to read those subtitles.

Panna a Netvor - Again, no English subtitled version on YouTube and I'm not in the mood for a horror film.

Let's begin!

15-11. All the Bootleg Disney ripoffs.

It's no surprise that after Disney released Beauty and the Beast, other companies decided to make a quick buck fooling parents into buying their far superior films.

So they're exactly what you'd expect. Cliched, nothing new, and you're sure to lose a few brain cells before you're through. I know I did, but I also watched people riff on them, which made the viewing experience much better.

If you care to see what I suffered through...

(This one might be my favorite because of the old man. Thanks to a certain Youtuber, he's famous now.)

I might have missed one, but, let's be honest, who cares about them?

Moving on!

10. Beauty and the Beet

What? Veggietales made a Beauty and the Beast episode?

How on earth did they pull that off? I mean, I can't see the writers producing a love story.

Oh...it's not.

So this is one of the worst episodes of Veggietales I've ever seen. Now, the series that shall not be named was much worse, but...goodness...

First off, they have Kellie Pickler as Mirabelle. Not only is she the worst character in Veggietales history, her voice is terrible. Pickler is a terrible voice actor and it shows. It's incredibly distracting.
