So I have to tell someone. And by someone, I mean the internet.
Yesterday, at the hospital, I was delivering newspapers to the patients rooms as usual.
Now, when I deliver a paper, there's a process I go through with each room.
1. Approach room.
2. If door is open, knock and go in. If door is closed, knock, open the door and ask if I can go in (sometimes patients are changing, etc.).
3. Ask if they want a newspaper.
4. Hand them said newspaper, if they say yes.
5. Leave the room, with door in position I found it in.
However, yesterday, when I was performing step 5, I didn't notice the emergency alarm right next to the door. And, in my effort to slip out quietly...I hit that alarm. Not the intercom, not the call light, the emergency alarm for that patient's room.
I didn't realize it at first, to be honest. I walked out the room, per step 5. Then, when all the nurses started running up the hall and the lights on the ceiling flashed red, I knew I had done something wrong...
My coworker asked what on earth I did...and I said I didn't know what I did, which was true. I looked around other rooms later and realized what happened.
But...none of the nurses ever found out it was me...which I'm not sure if I should be thankful for that or not. 😂
But hey, at least it wasn't the fire alarm. Now that would be something else...
