CHALLENGE DAY
UNIVERSAL POINT OF VIEW
"Alright guys! Come on in!" Host Jeff Probst calls as Belau and Malakal tribes walk in with their flags. Everyone is giddy and excited for their very first immunity challenge.
As everyone takes a spot on the mat that corresponds to their tribe colour, they all stare intently at what they'll be fighting for. The Immunity Idol
"Welcome, to your first, and for one of you last, immunity challenge!"
The cast cheer and clap wildly ready to begin.
"This challenge is called 'Shake Downstreet'" Jeff announces. Everybody studies the course of the challenge.
"In this challenge you will begin digging in a sandpit until you find two keys, from there you will crawl through a mud pit with a net over the top of it. Once out of the pit of mud you will use the keys to open a gate. You will then go through the gate and begin shaking a giant vertical pole. On top of the pole is a basket filled with dust and sandbags. There are ten sandbags in the basket, you will need to shake them out and collect them. Then you will begin throwing the sandbags on a not so big table ten metres away. The first team to get all ten sandbags on the table, will win immunity." Jeff Probst explains.
Everyone smiles joyfully, all excited to get into the challenge.
"Not only are you playing for immunity, but there is also a reward for winning" Jeff says as he pulls a sheet off a table. Under the sheet contained Fishing Gear "Fishing gear! For the winning team"
Everyone stares in awe, everyone wants that gear.
"Okay, everyone take your places, I'll give you a few minutes to stategise" Jeff says, and everyone gets into position and attempts to work out the best way to beat the other team.

"3... 2... 1... Go!" Jeff Probst shouts as the tribes get straight into the sandpit. Both teams digging aimlessly for a bag of keys. Lots of talking and shouting, trying to work together. Belau have gone for a tactic, where they all dig on the outside, and slowly make their way towards the middle, whilst Malakal are all digging around with no direction.
After five minutes of searching the Courtney from the Malakal tribe finally rips the bag out of the group and starts shouting for her tribe to get straight into the mud pit.
Sean dives head first into the shallow mud pit, leading the rest of his Malakal tribe. As there is a net strewn across the top of the pit, everyone is forced almost entirely into the mud.
As the Malakal tribe almost reach the end of the tribe, Belau very behind, finally find their sandbag. Leon takes a hold of it and dives straight into the mud pit. Belau flying through it, hoping to make up time.
Lindsay fiddles around with the key in the lock, as she finally opens the gate. The Malakal tribes sprint in and all take a hold of the vertical pole, all shaking in the same direction. Being covered in heavy and dark mud, the dust falling from the basket doesn't make the case better.
Belau still behind, but not as much. Dorothy opens the gate and her tribe, Belau pile in. About six of Malakal's sandbags have fallen out, where immediately two fall out for Belau. Belau making up precious time.
As the tenth bag for Malakal flies out, everyone runs to collect all the sand bags and bring them to a line from which they will throw their bags. Belau just behind them now, all retrieving their ten bags to the line, directly to the left of Malakal.
Jonathan takes the first throw for Malakal, which sits perfectly in the middle of the table. Courtney takes the second shot, and lands in as well. Although Mora fails to make the third, as the sandbag flops helplessly on the ground.
Belau now ready to begin throwing, but Conor and Ricki miss the first two. As Leon lands their first bag, Tom lands a third bag for Malakal
As it stands now Malakal... 3, Belau... 1
Erika lands a sandbag on the table as does Bennett for Belau. But Malakal just won't let them get ahead of them as they land another two bags from Kyle and Danielle.
Now it is Malakal... 5, Belau... 3
Kate lands the fourth bag for Belau as Sean misses his bag. It is only a one point different. Harrison infuriatingly misses for Belau as Jonathan lands a bag for Malakal
All tied up. Malakal... 5, Belau... 5
"Guys! We have to get the good throwers out there!" Conor calls angrily to his Belau tribe, because they keep missing. He steps up to throw
"But your one of the people who keep missing, so step down" Dorothy says back as she goes to throw a bag. Amazingly she hits it and lands a bag on the table. Belau have now got a few good throwers whilst the rest watch.
Malakal have settled for the same idea, letting Kyle, Courtney and Jonathan take all the throwing. Surely it works, and Kyle lands one straight after Courtney lands hers. Thats two more for Malakal.
Malakal... 7, Belau... 6
Kate lands one more for Belau, but Malakal won't let them get ahead as Jonathan lands another. Malakal seems to be going at rapid speed as the decreased the amount throwing.
Malakal... 8, Belau... 7
Courtney adds another to the collection on the table for Malakal as Bennett misses one for Belau. They couldn't afford this. Kyle gets one more for Malakal, and that's it!
"Malakal, win immunity!" Jeff calls throwing his hands in the air.
The tribe run up and hug Courtney, Jonathan and Kyle who took the challenge to the win at the end. Doesn't matter how muddy they are.
Belau are distraught. They just couldn't get ahead of Malakal.
***
Everyone is back standing on their mats.
"Congratulations Malakal" Jeff hands Courtney the immunity idol "You guys can collect your fishing gear, and head back to camp"
The tribe joyfully grabs the fishing gear and makes the walk back to camp
"Belau, got nothing for you, except a free trip to Tribal Council... see you then." Jeff says as Belau makes they way, disappointedly back to camp.
