It was a relatively slow day at Firehouse 51, you had one call out. You often bounced around Firehouses. Today you had been assigned to Firehouse 51, you had been told this was your permanent assignment, you no longer needed to bounce around various Firehouse's. You hadn't minded, you enjoyed working at 51, Severide's terrible jokes, Casey being his usual annoying brotherly self, Mouch hogging the couch.

Currently, you were sitting at one end of the long dining room table with Otis. Matt was at the other end with Sylvie, Cruz and Hermann. They were all eating the lunch that Sylvie had made for all of you. You were bickering with Otis as you played Trivial Pursuit. You rolled the dice and landed on an entertainment question. "Before starring in the hit TV series Baywatch, David Hasselhoff starred as a crime fighter in what '80s TV show?" You scoffed lightly, "Easy, Matt used to watch it all the time. Knight Rider." Kidd who had now joined the others at the end, laughed slightly. Matt pointed his fork at you, "No sharing family secrets, sis. I have a few of yours you don't want the others to know." You raised your hands, "I'm not scared." Matt raised his eyebrows as Otis prepared to roll while watching this unfold. "Okay, I am scared." Hermann smirked, "What kind of secrets do you have, little Casey?" You pointed at your brother and gave your best intimidating look. "If my brother values his life you'll never know." Otis laughed and rolled the dice. He landed on a coloured section and you picked up the card. "Peri-peri, cayenne and bird's eye are all a type of what?" Otis breathed in and looked up, "Chilli pepper?" He guessed. You rolled your eyes and placed the card back. "Yep." He cheered.

You both continued in this vein for a while, and soon the rest of the Firehouse was watching the competition between the two of you. Boden was now reading out the questions, Severide had joked that if he read them out it would be a real competition. Kidd had brought up nepotism if Casey had read them out. You both needed one more piece to fill the cut out, and then all you had to do was make it back to the middle of the board. "For her final piece, Y/N your question, what three-digit web error code for censored content is a reference to a Ray Bradbury novel?" You pursed your lips and furrowed your eyebrows, "451?" Boden grinned, "Yes." You whooped. Otis had his turn. "Otis, in 1862, the city of Bucharest became the capital of which country?"

Otis paused, looked smugly at you. "Romania." Boden nodded. You both now had to get to the middle. It was a tight race. You now just had to roll a four while Otis had to roll a five. You rolled, you grinned wildly when it showed you got a four. You jumped into the middle and grinned. You jumped up whooping loudly. Otis graciously conceded defeat. The buzzer sounded, calling all of you. You all jumped up and began racing towards. You grinned at Otis, "I win." He nodded and quickly checked around for Casey, before passing an arm around your waist pulling you close and kissing you quickly. He released you and raced off, you stood dazed for a moment, before running off yourself.

After the fire, once you were all back at the firehouse, you bumped into Otis as he left the area where the equipment was stored. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked down when he saw you. "Look about earlier I probably shouldn't have kissed you. I've...I've been wanting to do that for a while. Sorry, I understand if you don't want to be friends anymore or anything." You leaned up and kissed him, moving your hand to the back of his head, playing with the hairs there. He wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you closer. You pulled away, looking up at him through your lashes. "I've um been wanting to do that for a while too." Otis smiled, he placed his hands on the small of your back pulling you in. Both of your hands moved from resting on his chest to linking behind his neck. "Do you want to go out with me?" You grinned at him, nodding your head. "Yeah." Otis' face split in a wide grin. You both jumped apart when you heard a slam of a door. "Let's not tell the others or Casey just yet?" Otis suggested, you nodded. "Totally agree. Though you're probably the only one who wouldn't be scared off by his big brother routine." Otis laughed and the two of you headed back to the living area, ready for whatever food Severide was making for his turn on kitchen duty.
