Sam was on the balcony with Kensi and Deeks, they watched as you, his incredibly close friend and Callen, his partner, flirted with each other. Sam leaned onto his head on his forearms which were resting on the balcony. "This is harder than it was watching you and Deeks dance around all these years." Both Kensi and Deeks looked annoyed and scoffed. "Well we have tried to get them together?" Deeks reminded them, Kensi scoffed. "Callen's works undercover and is skilled with figuring out people's emotions. Y/N is a profiler who transferred from the BAU to work with us, hand picked by Hetty may I just add, like the rest of us." Kensi twisted to face Sam reminding him that the pair of you had probably seen through everything they had tried. You left, heading out to meet a potential informant, Callen's eyes following you. Sam, Kensi and Deeks walked down the stairs to work in the paperwork they had stacked on their desks.

Sometime later, Hetty moved towards the bullpen where the four of her agents were bickering about something as per usual. When she arrived, she caught the discussion they were having, "I don't need your help with getting a date, Sam." Callen laughed. The rest of the team were watching with barely hidden amusement. "I didn't say that." Sam refuted, "You said you'd set me up with someone!" Sam raised his hands in mock defence. "I never said that." Callen gave a disbelieving scoff, "That is exactly what you said." Hetty looked up at the balcony where Eric was making his way to the railing while looking at his tablet, "Gentlemen, Miss Blye." They looked over some of them jumping when they finally noted their boss' silent appearance. "It appears you have a case." They all stood, and Callen turned to face the balcony where Eric was preparing to whistle. He raised his hand, "Save it." Eric pouted, "What?" Callen motioned to Hetty. Eric looked sulky as he made his way into Ops, Nell smiled brightly at each person as they entered giving a worried look to Eric. "He didn't whistle." Nell gave a knowing nod.

Nell began to explain the case with Eric chipping in, Hetty stealing his whistle gone from his mind. "There was a witness to this crime, who we need to protect if their identity gets out, they will be in grave danger." Hetty told the gathered group. "They are also one of us." There was a pause before your photo flashed onto the screen. Sam started forwards, it couldn't be you, you one of his close friends. Callen who was standing behind everyone, stiffened and his eyes narrowed. "She is an experienced agent, Hetty." Kensi pointed out. "That is true Miss Blye, but these are trained assassins." Callen could feel his blood congealing in his veins, Sam's muscles visually tightened. "I'd like to be the one to protect her." Sam spoke, tension lacing his tone. Hetty nodded, "Of course Mr. Hanna, I understand how close you two are." Sam nodded, "G. too." He added, Hetty looked over at Callen. "Mr. Callen, any opinion?" Callen nodded, swallowing thickly. He gathered his emotions, "Sam and I work best together. She'll be safe with us." He looked over at Sam.

The case had been long and difficult, you had been travelling to a safe house when your car had been rammed and you had been kidnapped. Both Sam and Callen had felt responsible, they had headed into the Boat Shed licking both their physical and figurative wounds. It had taken a few gut twisting hours, but they had found you. You had a few wounds from the car accident but other than that you were fine. Deeks and Kensi had been the ones to find you. Sam pulled up to the site where you were being treated by the EMTs. The car had just barely stopped when Callen jumped out, Sam following suit shortly afterwards. Kensi and Deeks were talking with the local policemen. Sam stopped a short way away as he saw Callen's reaction to seeing you. Callen pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly, he kissed your temple. "You scared the hell out of all of us." He kissed you quickly, and you pulled away. "You do realise that everyone knows that we're together now right." Callen chuckled with a hint of his terror of almost losing you peeking through. He kissed you again cupping your cheek, you leaned into his touch. He smiled softly at you. "I don't care." You grinned back. Sam and the others headed over to you. Sam engulfed you into a massive hug, Kensi and Deeks hugging you soon after. Callen tucked you back under his arm protectively. "I just have to know how long has this..." Sam waved his hand at you and Callen. "Been going on?" You shrugged, "Four months. How did you not notice?" Callen chuckled at Sam's shocked look. "We've been trying to set you up for months, it's honestly been really funny." You smirked, "Plus we got some free food out of this."
