You dashed around your house, "Boys! Get ready, we leave in a few minutes." Your husband, Joonki came down the stairs, he moved his hand through his hair, the black strands falling into place. He smiled at you, his phone to his ear. He spoke quickly in Korean, you manged to understand most of it, but he spoke too fast for you to translate everything. He hung up, your two sons, raced down the stairs. You raised your eyebrows at your husband. He raised his brows and shoulders at you. "We have church, then family dinner. Your case can wait." He put his hands on your waist, pulling you in. "Shush, my love, your family thinks I'm a cryptopher." You smiled, "my husband, the code breaker." He chuckled and kissed you lightly. "I'm sure that your father knows I'm a secret agent who works for the Korean government and on occasion the US government, who also has diplomatic immunity." You pursed your lips. "He still doesn't like me." You turned to face your sons, "Shoes on please." Joonki used his index finger and thumb to turn you to face him. "I'm sorry, I don't know why he doesn't like you." He gave a small smile, kissing you chastely, "his feelings about me will not change the way I feel about you, my love. I love you." You gave a light shake of your head, you shrugged one shoulder, "For some reason." He disentangled himself from you with a laugh, he pulled on his jacket, "we are going to be late, come on boys."
You exited the church, your two sons, Jihyo and Jongdae raced outside with their cousins, Jack and Sean. Nikki walked out with her mother, while your brothers, Linda and your father and grandfather left ahead of you. Joonki was leaning against your car, his sharp jaw clenched when the news he received was bad, he gave a broad grin, his eyes softening when he saw you. Your father grabbed your arm, you hesitated manging to keeping your eyes on your sons as your father drew you aside. "Why are you here?" You looked up at him, "Because it's Sunday?" Your father huffed slightly, "I mean here in New York." You sighed, "It's where my family lives. I don't know dad, what do you want me to say?" His moustache bristled. "I thought it didn't matter, what he did, or who he is but what did matter was how he treated me." Your father took a deep breath. "He's a good person otherwise I wouldn't have married him. I have two kids with him, you gave me away at our wedding, why don't you like him?" Out of the corner of your eye you could see the rest of your family hanging out in the small garden by the church, your grandfather talking with Linda, Erin, and Nikki. Your sons, Jack and Sean were playing a game of tag, Jooki, Jamie and Danny were both heckling them and making jokes with each other.
Shaking your head, you walked down the stairs, your father stopped you with a cough. Your father huffed, "I love you and I want you to be happy, you are my little girl." You sighed, "I am happy dad, he makes me happy. I love him." Your father smiled, "Then I guess, I will have to live with that." You smiled. "He's a good person, dad. He works for the government, he breaks codes for them, so we are going back to Korea for his job. I don't think it would be a good idea for you to visit us for a while." Frank watched you walked over to join, your family, he knew there was something you weren't telling him and knowing you, you wouldn't unless you had good reason.
