Kiyo and I were in my dorm room. Hands intertwined, lips gently connected, our hearts and souls in one. It felt absolutely amazing.
We stopped for a moment, Kiyo staring straight into my eyes, as if he was trying to spot out every small detail of my face.
"Is something on my face?"
He gave out a small chuckle as he placed his lips on my forehead, down to my temple, to my cheeks, to my lips, and all the way down my chin.
"No, you're just so very beautiful. I couldn't help but stare."
"Heh. You know I love you Kiyo, but it's really hard to get your lipstick off."
"My apologies, I'll be just a minute, love."
He got up and walked into my bathroom. I sit there for a minute or so, listening to the sound of the faucet turning on and off, the sound of water dripping onto the sinks surface.
He comes back with a wet washcloth, sitting right next to me again. He presses the cloth against my face as he firmly but gently starts to wipes the lipstick marks off my face.
"You know, Rantaro. I truly adore you. Everything about you is undoubtably beautiful. Even if all of humanity is beautiful, none of it can compare to you, my love."
"Hehe. You're such a lovable dork."
"I was able to get most of it out. There's still some smudging, but it should go away in moments time, also it's barely noticeable. I'll make sure to not do this again. My apologies."
"It's alright. Don't be sorry."
I take the cloth out of his hands and throw it in the hamper nearby.
"Now, come here."
I pull him into my arms as I start kissing him again. I take his hat off and place it on the other side of the bed, now running my hands through his silk like hair. We stayed like this for a couple of minutes, before we had to pull away. I could feel the deep crimson smeared on my face, but I don't care anymore. I just wanted to be with my amazing boyfriend. He pulled me into a hug and then whispered into my ear.
"Happy birthday, my love."
"Thanks."
"I hope you enjoyed today."
"It was one of the best."
How could I not have enjoyed it. I was surprised how far in advance Korekiyo had planned some of the surprises for me. The gift he had gave me was absolutely wonderful. Something I'd treasure forever. But the best gift of all, was the person right in front of me. I never thought I'd find something I'd needed in a killing game. A friend, a partner, a kindred spirit, a lover. I just need to find a way to get all of us out of here, unharmed. Hopefully, there'll be a day where we can get out of this situation. One day.
I let my thoughts rest as I laid my head down on Korekiyo's stomach. I closed my eyes as he plays with my hair. I gently smile, as I was soothed into a calming sleep.
