Work was rough today, being assistant manager definitely comes with its challenges. I'm just glad the day is over so I can go home and crawl into bed.
The keys on my key ring jingled as I unlocked my apartment door. I walked in and switched on the lights then shut and locked the door behind me. Then I kicked off my shoes and entered the kitchen to grab a quick bite to eat.
As I walked into the living room with a bowl of cereal in my hand, my heart skipped a beat when I saw my girlfriend sitting on the couch cradling our sleeping baby. She stared at me with a smile spread across her face.
I immediately set my bowl on the counter and dialed 911.
"911 , what's your emergency?"
"Someone broke into my house." I explain as I glanced at my girlfriend.
"Ok, stay calm. What's your address?" the dispatcher asked.
"West Alenn Apartments, apartment thirty-seven C on the third floor."
"Alright. Are the person or people still there?" She continued.
"No, but there's plenty of evidence that there was a break in."
"Was anything stolen?"
"Yeah, my girlfriend and stillborn child's bodies, from the cemetery. They're sitting on my couch and they weren't there this morning when I left for work."
There was a pause on the other end before the lady responded. "A police officer has been dispatched and will be there soon."
