Day 12: Vampires in Plain Sight

Have you ever wondered why you can't see a vampire's reflection in a mirror?

Some say it's because they're dead and dead things no longer exist so they no longer need reflections. To other's its just a fact about vampires that everyone knows but don't know the real reason.

Well, I have the answer for you. Back in the ancient times when witches were still being hunted down for witchcraft and bears were being mistaken for werewolves, mirrors were made with silver. Silver is known to be a pure metal and since vampires aren't pure, their reflections never showed up in the mirrors.

However, nowadays, modern mirrors are made with aluminum since it's a cheaper metal. Which means vampires can now roam around freely in plain sight and not have to worry about mirrors giving them away.

I know I personally, enjoy being able to not have to hide away from mirrors. I can actually see the outfits now and I admit I need a total wardrobe change.

The only thing us vampires really have to worry about are those cameras, I don't know why we don't show up in them. You would think that if ghosts do then we should too, right?
