Ruby POV

I was looking at the ceiling waiting for the princess to get ready to move if we take the short rout we may get there quicker but it's dangerous too i can't risk collapsing there with the princess around instead of worrying about the rout i should worry about bismuth she will kill me and peridot we have been gone for 3 days now she will slaughter us both i was way too scared about what bismuth would have done to me to even hear the princess calling my name "GHA!! I'M A DEAD HUMAN" i screamed i then finally heard the princess's voice so i quickly grabbed my bag with my pitiful weapons and went out of the door "you finally decided to answer" she said coldly "I'm sorry i was really deep in thoughts it's been 3 days since i saw bismuth she will probably scold me" i said "how old are you?" She bluntly said "I'm 17 soon to be 18 what about you?" I asked "i just turned 17 last month" she said i can feel her stare...why does she sound so cold? "So? Shall we go?" She asked "yes we shall" i said nodding so we left the palace to the village

Peridot POV

I was guarding the princess while she was in the garden this is a waste of precious time i thought to myself so i turned on my holographic tablet to check on my drone "what are you doing?" The princess said "I'm checking on some of my drone's functions" i said still looking at the screen "you should be looking at me instead of looking at that thing" she said "you're not under attack so you may be all calm now if that's what is bothering you now" i said looking up "well you are under my command and you must obey" she said smugly i blinked twice not ones more and went back to my drone "look I'm really not interested in this job all i have to do is keep you safe not make you psychologically safe so now you deal with it" i said not giving a care in the world this princess is spoiled "how dare you talk to me like that you mare guard" she said standing up i looked her in the eyes "you're short" i said bluntly "excuse me what did you say?" She said stunned "this guard you're referring to has a name it's Peridot and this guard is the person that saved you from the criminals so if you don't mind I'll be on my drone" i said she was about to slap me but i grabbed her arm and made her look at me directly in the eyes "try it one more time and I'll make sure you get out of fights alone" i left her arm and she rubbed her wrist "how dare you touch me? You'll pay for it" she said walking in the palace i sighed and followed her oh boy here we go again we reached the king's studio and i waited outside the huge door ten minutes passed and lapis came out smirking "enter guard" the king said i rolled my eyes at lapis and as soon as i entered the king's studio i gulped i went closer to the king's desk as he was there leaning on the table two guards closed the door behind me "so my daughter told me you don't obey orders" he said with a cold not uninterested voice "n-not at all my king i just don't see why she must boss me around like that i was minding my business while she started it" i said forgetting i was talking to the king "he chuckled and started laughing "huh?.." I was utterly confused what was he laughing about was my first thought "you sound so much like lapis while she rants it's hilarious" he said wiping a tear away "oh boy i haven't laughed like this in ages ahem...anyway you may know my daughter is really short in temper and really demanding of you but you can't help it she wasn't like this once she used to be cheerful happy always enjoying freedom until i made her meet this village boy at start they got along but then.....things got harsh on her and she just couldn't trust anyone she is just colder and really on edge with new people so i ask of you to bear with it" the king said looking at me in the eyes i tightened my fist filled with anger WHO DID THAT TO LAPIS?! she is probably going thought trust issues every day and then there is me making her life harder "y-yes my king i will may ask something?" I asked looking a the floor and then at the king "who was the boy?" If i ask him i can find him the boys around are really few so finding this fucker won't be a problem he nodded and looked out of the window
