The sun shined brightly into my bedroom window. I groaned as the light partially blinded me. I never liked the sun or the daytime instead I loved that cold breeze that blows during night time and the twinkling stars. I've always preferred to be in the shadows, I don't why but I don't really like any attention I get.

I slowly got up and did my morning routine and got ready for school.

I went down into the 'dining' room and sat down. I started munching on the waffles provided on my plate while Jeff was scribbling down some stuff on his notebook. "What are you writing?",I said as I gulped a mouthful of waffles.

"Oh you know.... stuff.",he replied vaguely.

"Okay.",I said, not bothered to asked him any further.

"Yo,the party was awesome. Tons of people came and it was great. You should've come.",she continued droning on and on about the how great the party was. I sighed gustily and answered,"I get it, I get it, the party's great, I should've come, and I promise that if the exams are over, I would come."

She nodded and finally went away to pester some other unlucky souls. I mean Janice is a great friend if not for her constant attention seeking nature.

I went over to where Jay is standing. He quickly noticed me and turned to face me. "Oh, uh...hey Ash,is there something you need?",he asked.

"No. Just thought that I'd talk to you for a while. Class is still in 10 minutes and we have the same period."

"Okay,Hey did you get the vaccine yet?"

"No,why?"

"I heard that they're going to call a couple of us after every period."

"Have Jeff been called yet?"

"I don't know."

"What about you?"

"Nope."

We continued to chat until the bell rings and we headed to class together. We entered the class and I went to sit beside Ann, another close friend of mine. The class soon began and everyone fell silent.

"Listen up students, after this period, Jay Anderson, Ashlynn Miles, Jessie Thompson, and Andrew Ryans are to come to the clinic for the annual vaccine.",the teacher explained.

As I'm walking down towards the clinic, I felt someone tapping my shoulder and when I turned around, a certain prankster jump scared me.

"BOO!"

"Aaackk!",I jumped in surprise and glared at the culprit. I shook my head and raised a brow at him. "Really, Mark , out of all the people you could have pranked. You chose me?"

"Well I just couldn't let the opportunity slide.",he snickered.

I sighed and turned around to resume my way to the clinic. When I arrived, Jay already got the vaccine and was just sitting down next to Andrew who was currently about to get his.

Jay noticed me and waved at me. I waved back and took a seat next to Jay.
I watched silently as the nurse injected a syringe into Andrew's arm. He winced a bit but relaxed afterwards. "Okay, next.",The Nurse said. I switched places with Andrew and let my left arm rest at the table while the nurse went to get another syringe.

The nurse returned and gave a quick alcohol wipe over a certain spot on my arm. She readied the syringe and hovered it over my arm. I inhaled slowly and braces for the pain. I winced as the needle pierced my skin.

"Okay, all done.",I went to sit beside Andrew. We were actually allowed to leave immediately but they allowed us to rest for a while if we felt sick. So why not take advantage of it while it lasts.

"Where's Jess?",I questioned the boys.

"Oh she came earlier before any of us.",Andrew answered.

"Okay kids, I'm going to go out for lunch so if you want to go, just go.",the nurse said, not bothering to look at us as she headed towards the door. We stayed there for another 10 minutes before going to the canteen for recess.

A thunder rumbled off in the distance as I was working on my Chemistry assignment. There's definitely going to be a storm. I stopped what I was doing and went to grab an umbrella and raincoat.

After collecting the required items, I opened my bedroom window to find that rain had started drizzling slightly. I put on the raincoat and carefully got out the window. I sat down in front of my window and stared up at the grey clouds.

I could feel the drops of rain collide with my face which provided a cool sensation.
Oh how I love the rain and the shade provided by the dark clouds. I hummed as the storm started to appear and the rain turned more dangerous.

I went back inside and closed the windows shut. I decided to continue my work although it was due the week after this but nothing wrong with completing it early.

An hour later....

I stretched my arms and yawned as I was getting tired. Guess it's time to sleep then. I got up from the chair and went to lay down on the bed. I didn't bother to change clothes since the ones I'm already wearing are pretty clean and comfy. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
