15.Cabin Surprise

The sunlight seeped through the open tent. I quickly put on my glasses to avoid getting blind. I looked around and saw that the pup I rescued was nowhere to be seen. I sprung up and out of the tent. "Storm!Where are you?!",I called.

I sighed in relief when I saw Mark and Jay playing with the pup. But that wasn't the only thing I saw, Andrew looked at me with his hands crossed on his chest. Jeff was standing next to him with a dissaproving frown on his face.

"Care to explain?",Andrew asked with a brow raised.

"Storm come here.",I called to her.

She tipped before running into my open arms. I stretched her out to Andrew and I could see his internal struggle against Storm's cute charms. He finally sighed and muttered 'fine'. I grinned victoriously at his defeat.

"You here that Storm? You're coming with us.",I said and the pup yipped in delight.

"C'mon we have to reach the cabin before nightfall.",Andrew informed.

"Okay, you heard him, let's get a move on boys.",I said soon after.

I placed Storm back on the ground and went to grab my bag. The little pup waddled behind closely. All the chairs had already been folded and packed into the car. Only the tents remained in place.

20 minutes later......

I entered the car with Storm in my arms. She sat on my lap as Jeff started the engine. The sedan drove off once again. How are we going to find fuel for the car once our fuel supply is finished? The question lingered in my head and distracted my attention.

After a while of thinking, I decided to voice my concern. "Hey guys, what are we going to do once our fuel supply is used up?"

"We could siphon gas from cars or we can just search for gas stations.",Jeff answered.

A yawn came from Storm as she began to doze off on my lap. I definitely made the right decision to rescue her. I wonder why she didn't run away the second she saw me or if she can smell my zombie scent. I came across a stray cat when going to the hospital before I found Jay and the cat immediately hissed and ran away.

Maybe Storm's nose hasn't developed much. But then again, she could have ignored her instincts without realizing it.
I leaned my head on the window and drifted off to the land of dreams.

A pair of arms started shaking me slightly. I opened my eyes slowly and saw who had woken me up, it was Jay. A grin was plastered on his face and I raised a brow at him. "We're here and let me tell you this place is amazing!",he exclaimed excitedly.

My eyes widen and a huge grin appeared on my face. I glanced around the car and saw that me,Jay and Storm(who was still sleeping on my lap) were the only ones inside. The others must be waiting for us outside then. "Hey Storm, wake up buddy, we're here.",her eyes fluttered open and a gleam of excitement shone in her baby blue eyes.

I swung open the car door and carried Storm outside. I didn't bother to take my bag since all of our stuff are in still in the car. I noticed that we weren't exactly outside the cabin. The cabin was visible but we were a good distance from it and our car was sort of hidden behind a large tree.

I put Storm down and she yipped in delight. I spotted the other boys behind a tree,not far from the car. I went over to them with Jay and Storm trailing close behind. "What's going on?",I asked to no one in particular. Andrew looked at me and answered,"There's people inside the cabin."

I sniffed the air and there was indeed a couple of humans inside the cabin. Their scents alone had me drooling a bit. I have the sudden urge to tear apart their being and feast on it. I shook my head a bit and regained my com posture. A growl came from Jay and in a matter of seconds, Jeff had him pinned to a tree.   

"Calm down Jay, control yourself.",Jeff muttered,loud enough for Jay to hear. 

He took a deep breath and relaxed. Jeff let go of Jay and took a few step backs warily, ready to pin him again if he looses control, which fortunately he didn't.

"Sorry.",Jay apologized.

"It's fine.",Jeff replied.

"So what are we going to do about them?",I pointed towards the cabin,"I mean we can't just kick them out."

"Well,then let's try and compromise with them then.",Mark piped in after a while.

We all nodded in agreement and marched towards the cabin.

Well,here goes nothing.....
