Chapter 11: Return to the Balmera

Nifa awoke to the sound of a crashing spaceship, far off in the distance. She appeared to be on some sort of barren moon. She looked about, seeing the paladins gathered around some sort of makeshift fire. They were standing next to a smaller, broken spaceship.

But there were new characters there too. There was an alien with muscular arms, mauve skin, and purple spots. He had lank white hair and some pre-pubescent facial scruff, downturned eyes, and a cartoonishly straight nose. He wore a cropped blue vest open to expose his chest. He looked injured as well, with bandages wound around his waist, left arm and leg .He tucked hessian fabric through his brown belt to form a sort of skirt, under which he wore tight, brown pants. He wore tall pirate boots to conceal his prosthetic leg, which was grey with purple highlights, like Shiro's arm. To top it off, he had a gold earring, thick, mechanic's wrist guards, and a floppy aviator's cap. The googles atop his cap had a bird-like nosepiece. Altogether, he looked like some sort of space pirate.

He wasn't alone, either. He was accompanied by a tall alien with pointed ears, cream and yellow skin, and blonde hair with two brown stripes at her forehead. She had light purple irises with darker purple pupils and scalera. Her lower arms were slightly larger than her upper arms and she had three fingers on each hand. Her clothes consisted of a teal colored sleeveless top with light blue trim that showed her abdomen and matching loose pants with large darker blue pockets that ended just under her knees, a wide brown belt, and dark blue shoes that covered her calves. Her hair was kept up in four ponytails with dark teal barrettes, and she wore two sets of three metal bracelets around her left upper arm and one set around her right upper arm. She also appeared to be wearing pink lipstick.

The last member of this odd crew was a robot with one eye and catlike horns. It rolled around on wheels and displayed a green light from its black screen. Pidge seemed extremely taken with it. 

"What's going on?" she thought to herself. "Am I dreaming again, just like I was with the Blue Lion?"

Just then, the scene switched. That creamy-yellow alien was with Lance, and he seemed like his flirty self. They were talking on a different moon when all of a sudden, the alien shackled Lance to a tree-looking structure. She then hopped onto a line that the ship from before, now repaired, dropped down for her and made off with the Blue Lion inside!

"Hey! What's going on?!" she heard the Blue Lion hiss with alarm. "Help! HELP! It smells like overripe nunvil in here!"

The scene switched again. The paladins were in their remaining lions and chasing the thieves. Nifa saw them head straight for an asteroid belt, which was sure to slow them down. She wasn't sure why, but the idea that the Red Lion would have the best chance of catching up to the space pirates came to mind. After all, it was the fastest and most agile of the bunch. Hoping it could hear her, she concentrated on talking to the Red Lion.

"Listen, Red, you're the only one who could possibly fly through this. We need you, buddy," she said encouragingly. "Get in there and flush 'em out."

"You KNOW I will," the Red Lion boasted. "See you on the other side, spirit guide."

With that, the Red Lion took off through the asteroid belt. It dodged and ducked every single rock that came its way. Nifa felt as if she were speeding alongside it, evading the obstacles just as nimbly as the Red Lion. She saw the ship in sight, but they began firing at them! Making haste, she arched over the blasts and weaved in and out of them, taking care to avoid the rocks. Finally, the Red Lion fired a laser cannon at the ship from its mouth, damaging it and stopping the thieves.

The scene returned to the moon, where the thieves were spared and left on the moon for another rescue. Nifa was glad she had been able to stop them.
