Daniel stared at the bouquet of wilting daisies in the vase, they've been there for weeks. There's one daisy that doesn't wilt though, it stands up tall, like it's proud to be a daisy.
Daniel's boyfriend, Jack, was diagnosed with brain cancer a year ago. He just died last week. Before Jack died he gave Daniel a bouquet of his favourite flowers, which was daisies. He told Daniel 'when the last flower dies, that's when my love for you will end'. Daniel was confused, he thought that Jack would only love him for a week or so, daisies couldn't last much longer. But he took the flowers gratefully.
Now he stares, he stares at the only flower still alive. Curiosity flows through him, how was the flower so perfect? What did Jack do to it?
Daniel poured a cup of water into the vase, then took the wilting daisies and threw them out. He was still fascinated by the one daisy.

Week's passed and the daisy still wasn't wilting, not even a little bit. Daniel decided to get it checked out.
He carried the vase into the florist shop and brought it up to the counter.
"Hello! How may I help you?" The small female asked sweetly.
"I have a question about this daisy," Daniel started. "I got it about three weeks ago, and all of the others died, but this one is still alive. I don't know how."
"I can check it out for you," the lady said sweetly.
She took it out of the water and inspected it, she gently felt the pedals and the stem. Then she nodded, pleased with her discovery.
She looked up at Daniel with kind eyes. "This is a fake daisy. It will never die," she stated. Daniel looked at her in shock. He finally understood, the flower will never die, which means Jack will never stop loving him.
A few hot tears fell onto Daniel's soft cheeks. He looked at the daisy with a small smile. "Are you ok sir?" The lady asked kindly.
"Never been better," he replied with a genuine smile. She put the daisy back in the vase and smiled at him. "Thank you so much."
Daniel took the vase and walked out of the store. He looked up at the sky, he found a cloud that looked just like a flower, specifically a daisy. He smiled.
"I love you forever Jack."
