Chapter 5

(14 Months Later)

Alex's POV

I wake up to find 10 notifications on my phone.

2 Texts from Denis: I'm coming over today; See you then

4 Texts from Elijah: Were coming over today; *we're; oops; Is Denis coming?

1 Text from Ethan: Did u get Elijah's text?

3 Texts from Amie: I'm coming with the boys; According to Ethan we're going to the pool; Bring your swimming trunks :)

I get dressed, grab my trunks, and bring me and my phone downstairs. Looking around, I decide to sit on the couch and wait for them.

I open Denis' texts. Ok. I tap send and open Elijah's texts. Yeah., I type in. I hit send and then swipe to Ethan's text. Yes. "Send and...," I move to Amies texts. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. "Send." I then text Sub, Wanna hang out today? I then get a quick reply back. Sorry, I'm gonna work on videos today. I nod my head. Ok.

I then hear the doorbell ring and I stand up to walk over to it. The doorbell rings again as I turn the knob. I giggle. Then I open the door to find Denis, Elijah, Ethan, and Amie standing in front of me. "Hello," I smile. "Come in."

Everybody files in and sits down on the couch. I follow. "So, when are we going to the pool?", I ask, sitting down next to Ethan. "Around 9:30.", he says. I check my phone. 8:24 AM. "So we have an hour?", I ask. "Sounds about right.", Amie chimes in.

We sit in silence for what feels like 2 minutes but I check my phone and it's 8:32 AM. "Wait, what are we gonna do here until we leave to go to the pool?", Elijah blurts out. Then I hear what sounds like Amie breathing in intensely and saying, "That's a really good question, Elijah." We all burst out laughing and Elijah just sits there staring blankly at nothing. Ethan lets out his last laugh and then I get an idea. "We could play Truth or Dare...", I say, turning heads.
