"I'm killing that bitch when I get out of here!"

I glanced up at the woman, she reminded me of Queen Latifah from 'Set It Off'. She slammed the phone, yelling. The other women in the holding cell stared at her.

"Bitch we all got issues, calm down."

"On some real shit ma, mind your fucking business."

So now these bitches were arguing, and I wanted nothing more than to go be in my own bed right now. The stinch of the cell wasn't pleasant, and neither were these people they had me in here with. The looked so rough, you could obviously tell some were addicts.

One girl sat in the corner, she looked really young. She was pretty though, disregarding the scars and bruises that covered her skin. She never spoke, but I overheard her phone conversation. She was in here for stabbing her boyfriend, obviously self defense. These niggas think it's okay to hit on you, and think you won't retaliate.

"You look real familiar, I just can't point my finger on it."

I glanced up, looking at the Queen Latifah looking woman. "I seen you somewhere, haven't I?" A white girl that sat on the bench across from me, "She's that rapper wife, you haven't heard? TMZ was talking about it on the news, she's in here for beating the sidechick up. I was watching it before I got booked last night, now we're in the same cell—how ironic."

I sighed, this really was not happening. "See, if you'd come over to the other side... you wouldn't be dealing with that. Men don't know how to treat queens, I would never have you in that type of situation."

How the hell are your shooting your at me, you're in fucking jail too.

"Fuck what she's talking about, you think you could look out ma? My bail is 50,000 and they'll take 10% to let me out, my cousin Raymond can pay you back half on the first and the other half on the third. He's good for it, business is just slow right now."

I mentally rolled my eyes a million times, girl I don't even know you.

As if the angels were singing, the sound of an officer's keys jingling filled my ears. A white officer appeared, knocking on the metal bars. "Burgos-Brewster, you're free to go."

I hurried from the bench, not caring to look back at the women behind me. "Stupid bitch," I heard one of the women say. I ignored her, I had no problem being a stupid bitch—as long as I could be one out of fucking jail.
