"You okay?" Juju asked, glancing at me from across the kitchen island. I nodded my head yeah, while placing my hand on my belly. We'd finally finished moving into the house, and had even been staying here for the past few days. Life has been so perfect, Dave was finishing his last show before the baby this weekend and he had even been managing to stay out of trouble.

Before I could even give Ju a verbal response, a sharp pain hit me. "Ouch," I whined. Another pain followed few seconds later before I finally accepted that those were just possible contractions. "I think I need you go and lay down." As soon as I got up from the chair, liquid began to run down my legs—living a puddle in the middle of the floor.

"Oh shit, your water just broke." Ju yelled, while rushing from her side of the island to mine. "How far apart are the contractions? I need to call 911, I need to call Dave. Shit! Why is this happening right now!"

I began to blink— it seemed like my vision was going in and out. I quickly grew tired of trying to fight and keep my eyes open, so I stopped and peacefully let them close.

At first it was just darkness, like literally nothing but black space. After a few seconds, a quick light appeared but it went away just as fast as it came. Seconds later, I heard a mixture of cries. The cries were eventually followed by foot steps, small quiet foot steps.

The light came back, but this time it shined a lot brighter. The prettiest little girl appeared, alongside side a little boy. They were both dressed in all white and seemed to playing with toys. They looked sort of like me, not exactly- but I noticed a few of my features. I wasn't sure if they saw me how I saw them, they never acknowledged me. They just continued to play with their toys, as if I wasn't looking directly at them.

The kids continue to fade in and out, and so did the light. It was like I was dreaming, but also mentally tired of fighting to keep the children in my sight. I gave in and let my eyes rest, completely exhausted.

I eventually opened my eyes, and this time it was real. I was in a hospital room, machines and beeping noises were everywhere. I glanced around, soaking in the view of what I could see without actually moving.

"You're finally woke." Dave said while walking over to my bed side. I figured he must've been sitting down in a chair that was a little out of my view. I tried to speak, but my throat was extremely dry. He figured that out and grabbed his personal cup of water. He put the straw to my mouth, allowing me to take a few sips.

"Better?" I nodded my head before speaking, "What happened? All I remember was being home and I just passed out." He nodded his head, "Something about fluctuations in your blood, your blood pressure dropped really low and you fainted."

I gave him a look, I guess he could sense my fear. "The baby..." He looked at me, "She's fine, she was born last night a little after 8PM. They had to an emergency c-section, you've been out of it for a while now."

A mixed amount of emotions immediately ran over me. I didn't know how to feel, happy or sad. Of course it sounded great to know that my baby girl had come into this world under no complications, but it also broke my heart to know that I wasn't able to experience any of it. I didn't hold her first, nor see Dave cut the umbilical cord. I didn't even know she looked, I missed out on everything it felt like.

"Did you name her?" He shook his head, "Of course not, everyone thought that it would be best if I just waited for you to wake up. Your mom and my mom was down here all day, I just sent them home to get rest."
