•"Gracie you've only did like two squats, literally".
I watched her as she sighed and attempted to do a few more. "I'm not about this gym life BB, you know that I'm the laziest person in America".
"It's not that hard and it makes your ass grow too", I said while hitting a quick twerk move. "If this is what I have to do to get a bigger ass, I quit", she said which made me laugh.
"You want smoothies, my treat"? She nodded her head, following me as I left the gym and went down the hall to their small cafe.
"I'm guessing you want whatever I'm getting, right"? I asked looking back at Gracie, who was now occupied with her phone. "Yeah, I like that Mango smoothie you got me last time".
I ordered both of a mango-pineapple smoothie, taking them back to the table that Gracie had gotten for us. Once I sat the smoothies on the table and took my seat, she looked up from her phone, looking at me.
"So are you finally going to tell me what was up from last night"? I shrugged my shoulders, taking a sip of my smoothie. "It's nothing, I just saw someone from my past".
"It is something BB! If it was nothing, you wouldn't have left the VIP section last night. You came back downstairs fast as hell". I sighed, "You know how I'm from the Bronx, but I always told you about how I spent a lot of time in Harlem"?
She nodded her head, "Yeah, I remember". I shrugged, "Well, I saw somebody that I knew from Harlem".
"Are you talking about that Devin boy you used to always talk about"? I shook my head, "His name is David, not Devin". She shrugged, "Same difference, but you saw him"?
I nodded my head, "Yes, I saw him. I haven't seen him since I was fifteen Gracie, that was ten years ago. Well I think that was him".
"What's so bad about that? I thought that was your friend or something". I shrugged, "It's a long story Gracie, it's really a long story".
It was a regular summer day for me. It was Friday, which meant that I had just finished my week working at my summer job and it was time to make my way to Harlem for the weekend. I rushed home from work, making sure I had done all of my chores and packed my bags to go over my best friend's house.
