Clara felt like she was forgetting something as she got off the horseless carts and went into the Great Hall. All through the Sorting Hat's song she really felt like she was missing something.
"Oh well."
Lily refused to talk to Melody for she thought the whole Snape thing was her fault.
"C'mon, Lils, it wasn't me."
Melody pleaded.
"Someone tell Rivers I'm not talking to her."
Lily said.
"Fine, Evans."
Melody spat.
"Oh, knock it off. We're living with you two for a whole year."
Marla said as the two glared at each other through Dumbledore's speech.
That night Clara went into the girls dorm to find Melody and Lily STILL not talking to each other.
"What's wrong, Lily?"
Clara asked.
"You bloody well know what's wrong, Black."
Clara rolled her eyes.
"Melody didn't get Snape, if that's what."
Lily sighed.
"It's just no one likes him, Clara."
Lily sobbed.
"And he seems to be drifting away."
Clara sat down on the edge of Lily's bed.
"That's not all is it."
She implied. Lily grabbed her pillow.
"No, I suppose not. My sister's been avoiding me all summer. Sev's been hanging out with those Slytherins that like pain again, and there have been disappearances in MY neighborhood. Something's out there, and it's targeting muggle families."
Clara smiled sadly.
"Well, you're safe here."
Lily laughed harshly.
"Me? It's my family I care about. What if they die tomorrow? Petunia still won't talk to me."
Clara looked solemn.
"Lily, nothing is going to happen. You'll see them again at Christmas, and Easter, and summer after that."
Lily smiled.
"Thanks Clara."
Clara nodded and sat down on her own bed.
"Welcome home, girls."
