"Why is Erika taking so long?" Elizabeth asked.

"I'm not sure. I'll check on her." I told Elizabeth.

I got up and opened the door. And the person that I worked hard to get was just in front of me.

"Emmanuel." I said.

Emmanuel kept quiet. His eyes stared into mine.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me into a embrace.

"Emmanuel..." I closed my eyes. My heart had finally gotten what it wanted. I felt satisfied.

Yet..regret was somewhere in there.

"Don't move." Emmanuel whispered.

I nodded and smiled.

I guess it's better to forget about Travis now. But I don't know if I want to..

"Hey! I thought you were finding Erika?" A voice said, laughing.

"Yikes." I pulled away from Emmanuel.

"I didn't know you had that side of you. Emmanuel." Elizabeth laughed.

Emmanuel kept quiet. I just smiled.

"Hey guys." Erika walked towards us.

"You alright?" Elizabeth asked.

Erika nodded."I'm fine now. I guess. You guys are together then."

I blushed when Erika said that. I wanted to see Emmanuel's reaction.

He was staring at me. Which made me blush harder.

"Don't say that..Erika. She's blushing really hard." Elizabeth teased.

"Alright." Erika answered.

"What is going on?" A voice asked.

And Joseph stood there."You guys are together?"

Arh. I forgot about Joseph.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Oh. That's great." Joseph smiled.

He's over it. I smiled to myself. Everything is back in place.

Well... almost everything.

I thought the chapter with Travis is done and over. But..I feel that my heart isn't ready to accept that.

********************************

Mr Anderson's class was horrible as usual. But this time..my eyes were opened the entire lesson.

Because they weren't on the board. But on Travis.

He.. as usual listened to class. But..the thing that has changed is he did not turn to look at me.

Not even once.

I sighed and covered my head. What am I doing? I should be happy and all that.

My life is complicated.

Finally the bell rang. I stood up and walked.

Later did I know I was walking towards Travis. I stopped in my tracks.

Old habit.

I shook my head and walked out.

Emmanuel was there waiting for me. I gave him a smile and ran towards him.

As we walked, I heard girls laughing and giggling behind me.

I turned around and suddenly wished I hadn't.

Travis was surrounded by girls. Tracy and Jennifer were there too.

I blinked my tears away and looked to the front.

Emmanuel looked at me and looked front again.

He didn't asked me whether I was alright.

That was what puzzled me.

*******************

"Wanna watch a movie tomorrow after school?" Elizabeth asked.

"Sure!" Erika exclaimed.

"Joseph? Emmanuel? " Erika turned to them.

"In." Joseph smiled.

Emmanuel looked at me and I just gave him a nod.

"We'll be going." Emmanuel answered.

"Hey seriously.. you don't have to be so ice like. It's cold." Elizabeth teased.

Emmanuel just gave her a slight smile.

I looked at Emmanuel and whispered."Is that considered a date?"

"Yeah." Emmanuel replied now smiling one of those rare smiles. Making me blush.

A date huh?

I've been to one before.

"Hey. Geraldine."A voice called.

I turned around and Jennifer stood before me.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"We've got to talk." Jennifer said.

She walked towards the roof garden and I just followed her.

"I thought you were with Travis." I said trying to act as casual as possible.

"Was. And you're with Emmanuel now aren't you?" Jennifer asked.

"Yes. I am." I replied.

"So..for Travis is a gone case huh?" Jennifer asked.

I nodded.

"Then..I guess you should be thrilled to know he's leaving for Chicago tomorrow. Well he's staying there for a year or two."

Jennifer smiled.

"What?" I turned to her.

"That's all I have to say." Jennifer turned around and walked away.

He's leaving? ..

"Oh yeah. I forgot." Jennifer stopped and turned around."I'll text you tonight."

"Text me?" I asked." But i didn't give you my number..."

"I guess that's not important. What's important is what the message says." Jennifer smiled and walked away.

I walked back to the cafeteria.

He's leaving?

Leaving.

Leaving.

Leaving.

Two years.

For two long years.

"So..what was it about?" Erika asked.

"Nothing much." I lied.

"Ok." Erika nodded.

I stared at my hands.

You have no reason to worry or even think about him.

Whether he leaves or not, it's none of my business.

Why should I care?

Emmanuel placed his hands in mine.

I smiled at him.

I couldn't possibly break Emmanuel's heart.
