Chapter 19

I watched as the rain poured down. Mr Anderson was lecturing away. I realized I tend to be daydreaming like almost every second if I lost my concentration.

I looked over to Travis. He was paying attention. Wow. I couldn't have listen to Mr Anderson's lesson without falling asleep.

I observed the way Travis took down his notes and the way he listened.

"It's alright. I'm gonna be here for you. I know we have just met. But I feel that my fate is tied to yours."

I blushed at the thought of that. But then..I couldn't help but smile too. He was so nice and sweet.

I turned to look at him again. This time he was looking at me. I quickly turned away pretending to have noticed something else.

And then I turned to look at him again. He was still looking at me. He gave me a smile.

I smiled back and looked down at my paper. This is crazy. I didn't have any friends before I met Erika or Elizabeth.

It was all thanks to them I got my confidence back. I can't thank them enough.

But... I already did them wrong. I.. am repaying back with the opposite of what I was given. They might not know yet.. I still feel terrified.What if they came to know of it?

The bell rang off. I stood up and headed out of the classroom.

"Geraldine! Where are you heading to?" Travis caught up.

"I'm going to talk to someone. But I don't know if....never mind come along." I replied.

I wanted to tell him that Tracy wouldn't talk to me with him there. Yea. I was going to talk to Tracy. Freaky right?

Travis walked with me down the hall. Girls were throwing stares at him. To be honest. He was pretty hot.

I spotted Tracy with Amanda. "Tracy. Can I have a moment?"

Without turning around, I'm sure she recognized my voice because she said," Oh. It's you. Gera."

"Her name is Geraldine." Travis spoked without hesitation. Only then she turned around. She quickly forced a smile." Of course. I knew that. Sorry. Geraldine." She started laughing with that fake laugh of hers.

"Tracy. Why did you tell me that?" I asked her. Tracy looked confused. "What do you mean?"

"Well..er...you told me about Emmanuel leaving for Canada?" I continued.

"Oh. As I said. I thought you might be interested. Because who knows if you really cared." Tracy smirked.

I looked at Travis. He was expressionless. I turned to look at Tracy again. "Of course I do. He's Erika's boyfriend."

Tracy just smiled."We'll see if that reason is the only reason."

"In any case. That is a reason. At least Geraldine cares for her friends. Unlike you." Travis stated.

Tracy face turned red. "Well..I.."

Travis grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. He actually said that. Though he knew what the true reason was.

"Travis." I whispered. He continued holding my hand while we walked down the hall.

"Geraldine.." A voice whispered. It was Erika.

Erika, Elizabeth, Joseph and .. Emmanuel stood there."Don't tell me you guys are together?" Elizabeth exclaimed.

I looked at Travis. But then my eyes moved to Emmanuel. He looked away.

I looked at Erika and Elizabeth."Geraldine . You're with Travis? " Joseph added on.

"Travis and I .. are just friends." I defended. Finally Travis let go of my hand.

"Yeah. We are just friends." Travis smiled. He really knew how to cease the tension.

I smiled at him too. He was calm and relaxed in this situation.

"Oh I see." Erika said. Elizabeth nodded too. Joseph looked confused. And the worst and probably the most toturing was Emmanuel's expression.

His face stayed expressionless. He didn't look at me at all. I turned back to Travis.

"Wanna have lunch now?"

Travis nodded."Hey Erika. Elizabeth. Wanna join us?"

"Nah..You guys go ahead." Erika laughed. With Elizabeth joining in too. Joseph just smiled.

I didn't even want to look at Emmanuel. As I walked away, I could hear Erika and Elizabeth talking about Travis and I.

I unknowingly grabbed Travis' hand. "Wait.. can we go to the roof garden? I think I lost my appetite."

Travis looked at me for awhile before agreeing. He lead the way while I followed behind.

As I climbed the stairs, I just focused on looking at Travis back.

I sat down on a bench with Travis by my side. Travis looked really concerned.

"Geraldine? You alright?" He placed his hand on my shoulder.

"No..I'm not." I choked." Is this how you feel when you love someone? This is the pain? If that's the case..I don't even want to have this.."

"Love comes in all forms. Apparently the person you love is someone's. But..you have the right to love.Is just that.. he is Erika's boyfriend.I think you knew that before you even admitted that you have feelings for Emmanuel." Travis said softly.

I looked at Travis." I'm sorry. I'm always using you to relieve the pain I feel.."

Travis smiled,"Use me anytime you want. If you need me, I'm here."

I laid my head on his shoulders because I didn't want him to see me crying.

The tears trickled down my cheek.

"Thank you, Travis."

I didn't care anymore. I wanted to get this feelings out.

I'm gonna tell Emnanuel how I feel. If it means putting an end to all this.
