"So tomorrow after school!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
"Yeah." I replied.
Emmanuel held my hand."I'll walk you home."
I nodded and waved goodbye to the rest.
"Don't you have a car?" I asked Emmanuel.
"I do. But I don't want to drive it." Emmanuel answered bluntly.
Strange.
The feeling of his hands in mine didn't have the same spark as it had when Travis held it.
What did I just say?
Emmanuel was the one you loved all along. The one that you risked your friendship for.. and shed tears for.
Yeah. He was..
"See you tomorrow." Emmanuel kissed my forehead.
I nodded and smiled at him.
Emmanuel smiled and walked away.
"Hey Dad." I sighed.
"Hey...woah woah..shouldn't you be happy now that he is walking you home?" Dad asked.
"Yeah...but..wait. How do you know who he is?" I turned to him.
"Who else? Now answer the question, Kid." Dad stated.
"I'm not a kid..." I sighed.
Dad gave me the just-answer-me look.
"I don't know." I shook my head.
"Arh. It looks pretty obvious what the reason is. You're fooling yourself." Dad laughed.
"I am not." I said." I am sure of what I want."
"Don't answer to me. Only you know what you want." Dad walked to the kitchen.
"Don't you have work today?" I asked him.
"Don't change the subject. But no..I don't." Dad replied.
"Okay." I sighed and walked to my room. I laid on my bed the minute I step into the room. And before I knew it, I was asleep.
My eyes opened a little. Something was moving. No. More like buzzing.
It came from my pocket. Oh its my phone.
It's been vibrating.
"Hello." I answered the call.
"Hey!" A familiar voice spoke.
"I thought you were gonna text me...not call me.." I yawned.
"No difference. Anyways. What do you think?" Jennifer asked.
"Think? Think about what exactly?" I asked her, my eyes still closed.
"Chicago. Plane. Leaving. Two years. Ring a bell?" Jennifer continued.
"Yeah! I have!" I exclaimed. How could I forget that?
"So?" Jennifer asked.
"I'm not going to do anything. If he wants to leave what is it to me?" I said.
I hope that's convincing enough for her. And for me.
"You..are hopeless." Jennifer mumbled."I'll send you his address so you can catch him before he leaves to the airport. Because I don't know what gate it is or what airline he is taking."
"Send it or not. I'm not gonna find him." I replied.
"Don't tell me that. Tell that to yourself. And to be honest..it's killing me to do this. But it's even worse for him." Jennifer said.
