Chapter 8

"Come on ! It's time!" Joseph announced. Erika dragged her suitcase down. While Elizabeth touch up her make-up.

The harbor is about 10 minutes away. Plus we're having dinner with Erika's and Elizabeth's parents near the harbour. It's at a luxurious restaurant.I can't even imagine myself eating there.

I ran down the stairs and went to the car. Erika went in first, followed by me then Elizabeth.

"Alright!" Joseph closed the trunk. He sat at the front passenger seat. While Emmanuel sat at the driver's seat.

On the way, everyone talked about how exciting it would be.What I meant by everyone excludes him ..of course he didn't.

After what seemed like forever, we were there. We got off the car first while Emmanuel parked the car.

We walked towards a restaurant covered with lights. It was beautiful.

"Mom! Dad!" Erika and Elizabeth said in unison, running towards two adults dressed in branded clothing. They gave them a hug.

I noticed another woman standing next to them. She had her hair tied up in a bun. She had precious gems around her neck and on her ears. She hugged Erika.

I walked up to them. "Mom. Dad. This is Geraldine our new best friend." Elizabeth introuduced.

"Hello. I'm Geraldine. "I gave them a smile.

"Hello Geraldine." Erika's and Elizabeth's mom hugged me. I was taken aback.

"They told us so much about you. You're like a sister to them, therefore you are like a daughter to us." Erika's and Elizabeth's Dad smiled.

My tears started flowing. They are actually being really nice. "Thank you."

Their mom put her hands on my shoulder. "Call me Irene and Call him Phil. "

"Thank you. Irene and Phil. I really appreciate it. "I smiled.

Irene smiled at me. "Right. This is Emmanuel's mother. Emma."

I looked at Emma. "Hello Emma. I'm Geraldine."I reached out my hands to shake hers.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you." She smiled back.

Emmanuel and Joseph walked up and greeted them.

Then we went in to eat

our dinner.

I sat next to Erika and Joseph. We ordered our food and while waiting we continued our conversation.

"Erika. How's Emmanuel doing?" Emma asked out of the sudden.

"He's doing really great." Erika smiled.

"I knew it. She's the one. Emmanuel."Emma turned to look at Emmanuel.

Emmanuel kept silent. While Erika started to look hurt.

"Yes. They indeed look good together." Irene continued. "You guys should get married soon. "

"Mom! I'm still in high school."Erika blushed. Irene giggled.

"How about Elizabeth? Doing well?" Phil joked.

"O-of course!" Elizabeth kissed Joseph on the cheek. "He's mine forever. "

"Elizabeth. You move too fast." Irene laughed saying.

Joseph and Elizabeth laughed.

Erika's expression changed. I put my hand on hers to comfort her.

She looked at me and smiled a sorrowful yet happy smile.

Finally the food came and we ate.

***Later***

"Bye Guys! " Irene, Phil and Emma waved. "Have fun!"

We waved at them and got to the yacht and went on. We went to our rooms.

The yacht was big enough for all of us. They hired a Experienced person to captain the yacht and steers it.

We got into and seperate rooms to freshen up amd then we would meet up in the lounge.

I took a quick shower and dried my hair.

I combed it and got changed. I laughed at myself. I never knew a day like this would come.

I walked towards the lounge. Hmm. Nobody's there yet. I sat down and waited.

"Geraldine? " I looked up. It was Joseph. He sat next to me. "Hey." I smiled at him.

"The others?" He asked. "Oh. They're not here yet." I replied.

Then there was silence.

Joseph looked at me from head to toe.

"You know. .You have pretty eyes."He said suddenly.

I was shocked. Was he flirting with me?

"Excuse me. Are you alright?" I asked snapping out of my shock.

"No. Not with you here." Joseph replied stroking my hair.

I opened my mouth to say."Wha-"

"Hey guys!"Erika was here. Joseph remain calm and acted as if nothing happened.

"Hey."I forced a smile. I looked at Joseph and look back at Erika.

Elizabeth came was behind Erika.

"Hey Joseph. Geraldine. "She went over to Joseph and kissed him. "Hey Beautiful. " He kissed her back.

Erika sat next to me. Emmanuel came walking in. My heart felt so bad. It seemed like I had betrayed Elizabeth.

But I knew that was not the main feeling now. Right now it is as if I have betrayed Emmanuel. My heart hurt alot. But I wasn't with him in the first place.

So why did I feel this way?
