Aftermath

A New Beginning

It is the end of senior year and I'm doing pretty good so far. Jake went off to college but he comes to visit on holidays. Our plans are to get married on graduation day. When I returned back to school everyone was excited to see me even Nicki. It has been easy going so far. My grades are outstanding and I'm graduating with an honors degree. We film a lot of our moments as a family which means a lot to us because we were going to do something with them later.

Jake and I talk to each other on Skype. JJ's birthday has passed and he's 1 year old. He is a very smart little boy and his words are getting clearer and clearer by the day.

"JJ come talk to Jake", i said as we were video chatting.

"Daddy", JJ said as he wobbled over to the phone. They were so close to each other that JJ would sometimes call Jake dad but he knows who his real dad is.

"Hey, buddy what you doing", Jake said smiling at him.

"Toy", he said holding it up.

"Love you JJ", Jake said

"Wuv you daddy"

"Awwww that's sweet", I said to JJ as he left the room.

"So babe you done packing", Jake asked me. We were moving in a nice condo close to a pre school.

"Yep the last box"

"Well talk to you later babe. Love you"

"Love you too.", I said as I blew a kiss

Jake and I have been planning the wedding for a while now. All we need to do now is send the invitations out. Kelly is helping me pack up today and we are moving some stuff into the condo.

"So Alana are you excited because you're getting closer", Kelly said excitingly.

Some people thought I was too young to be getting married, but i don't think so. My birthday was next week and I was turning 18.

"I'm excited, but I'm nerv-", JJ interrupted me because he started taking things out of the boxes.

"JJ stop, go play", i said as I removed the box.

"He's such a fireball", Kelly said.

"Tell me about it"

"Lana I've been thinking about having you a bachelorette party", Kelly stated.

"Are you serious. Jake's mom and my mom suggested a bridal shower"

"Well you know the person I am, I would like to spice it up for my Lil sis."

"And how exactly are you planning to do that", I asked curious.

Kelly was a very sneaky girl and she knew all the moves. So whatever she was planning I'm sure it was gonna work out.

"OK the bridal shower will be held in the morning. The bachelorette party would be held around 9:00 pm"

"What about the boys", I asked.

"Oh honey they are not gonna find out", she said with a mischievous grin on her face. We arrived at the condo and as Kelly sat the box down I noticed bruises.

"Kelly what's those bruises about", I asked grabbing her arm.

"Its nothing Lana"

"Kell I know you. Has Corey been beating on you again."

So much has happened. Kelly and Corey had been dating for a while. I knew Corey was a drunk, but what I didn't know was he was abusive.
