Chapter one
"It's so cold out Jess. I mean really do we have to do this now?" "Yes, Analise we have to do this now, if we don't do it now then we'll never find the time to do it."
Jess and Ana had been best friends since kindergarten. They were polar opposites but, they seemed to mesh well together. Jess stood around five ft four inches tall, she was curvy with long black hair and startling oceanic blue eyes. Though she had a perfect coke bottle figure Jess's self esteem left something to be desired.
On the other hand Ana was tall and athletically built. She had green eyes with brown hair. She had an aristocratic jawline with a partisan nose.
Ana came from wealth, she had been sheltered all her life. Her mother died when she was young from cancer leaving a grieving father to take care of her. Since he had no idea how to take care of a growing adolescent, he hired a nanny or better yet a house keeper and commenced to throw money at any issue Ana had.
Jessica was from the other side of the tracks. She lived in a modest home with her mother. As an only child Jess, had to learn how to fend for herself rather quickly. Her mom was as good a mother as she could be, working to make ends meet.
Jess could remember when her father had told her he was leaving. He promised that he would call and write, but he never did. When he walked out the door he walked out of her life. But that was ten years ago when Jess was eight.
"Hurry Jess, it's freezing. My fingers are growing icicles."
"Ana if you would get your British accent down here and help me we could be done much faster." She said sarcastically.
"I'm frozen solid Jess, and the woods are creeping me out. Why do you hide your money out here in the woods anyway?"
"Because my mother would totally freak if she knew how I made this money, I have to pretend that I have a meager job working at the bakery in order to keep my head on my shoulders." "I plan on leaving this hell hole as soon as I graduate, and I've almost saved up enough money to get out of here."
" You know Jess, I would have given you the money if you had asked....."
"I'm not a charity case Ana, I pay my own way."
Ana was about to reply when she heard a low rumble coming from the tree line. Jess immediately froze in place. That sound seemed rather close.
Tristan and Jackson were out checking the perimeter for rogues when Tristan stopped in his tracks. He smelled something. Inhaling deeply he canted his head to the side. "Do you smell that?" He sent telepathically to Jax. "Yeah, mmmm" Jax sighed "smells delicious". "I think we should go check it out Tris." "Fine you head west I'll head around east."
As the boys took off in opposite directions attempting to flank the position that the smell was coming from they, came upon another scent...
This was bad, really bad, Aaron was in the woods, and he was close to that beautiful scent. If he got there before Tris and Jax then all hell was going to break loose.
The boys began to run faster screaming between the link. "What the hell is he doing on pack property again!" "If my father finds out about this he will surely kill him this time!" Tristan said.
They surged forward attempting to beat Aaron to the scent. When they arrived Aaron was standing in the shadows, having shifted to his human form, he was gloriously naked. He saw them, and was just about to step forward when Jax and Tris sent a warning growl.
The girls housing the scent were immediately knocked out of their reverie. Tris could smell their fear. Aaron lunged forward, with a smirk on his face, so did Tris and Jax. The girls screamed running and falling. Tris would have to go after them later, right now he needed to take Aaron to his father.
