"Sound the alarms immediately this is not a drill I repeat THIS IS NOT A DRILL".
" yes sir sounding the alarm immediately sir".
" Good!- All right boys get ready to brace yourselves".
I quickly held my breath trying to resist everything that was ready to come against us; then all of a sudden everything became black. I can't believe this could've gotten as bad as it did but I guess we weren't lucky.
Several months back...
"Warren, I don't know how I feel about this..is the risk really worth all that money? I know why you are doing all this, but-"
"Ma, please don't worry about it. I've made up my mind and I'm going to be OK. You always forget that I'm a grown man. I'm still gonna miss you mom."
The small frail lady tears up hearing what her son was telling her and she didn't have any other words but a hug and a kiss on the fore head saying goodbye.
A few seconds later my wife appeared with my beautiful daughter in her arms. Both hugged me and kept me tight in their warm embrace. They had me wondering if this was a good idea but I was already steps away from the ship (I can't go back now can I?) When I pull away from their hugs and kisses my daughter was already crying missing me. My wife walked our daughter into the arms of her grandma in hopes of some consolation. Then my wife personally said her goodbye to me...
"I thought you wouldn't come"
"I wouldn't miss it for the world- you know that honey."
I look back on that day and I worry if that was going to be the last time I see the people I call family.

Suddenly the sounds of the signal flares being fired by the captain startles the boy awake from what seemed to be his short dream.
"WARREN, WARREN- boy are you OK?"
(Gasps, Coughs) "WHA- WHATS HAPPENING??"
Warren starts to attempt to stand up from the shock. But the captain and the other men held him down
"You took a hard hit kid. Glad to see you're up."
Another member stepped in helping Warren sit "Don't worry man. Most of us took a beating."
After what felt was just five minutes of eerie silence someone abruptly got up and walked closer to the window.. With a horrified look the man rushed outside without any words exchanged.
Seeing this guy randomly run outside-the other men rushed to window and saw one of the crew members being swept away. The man was tying himself to the post hoisting himself up. Seeing this all the others were yelling "Get out of there Luis!!" then panicking rushed outside to help.
I was too dizzy to move around like that. The screams and yells were becoming more and more like echos to where nothing was making sense. Some of the men that were last to reach the door were violently pulled from their coats by the captain. As the remaining men tried to fight past the captain and join the others outside- the captain stood in front of the door holding them back.
Then one of them looked out the window, "Hey look! They're coming back!!"
All of them stepped away from the door and pressing each other to the window to see. The captain then pushed some of the men out of the way and saw the three men dragging themselves to the stairs and heading to the door. So he quickly opened the door still keeping himself in front so no one else leaves.
"Come on boys! It's getting worse over there!"
They were able to hop into safety and when the three stepped in they were covered in blood. Everyone stayed silent as they all watch how the three started settling in and try to sit down.
"what happened?"
First one to step up was a robust older man clearly seasoned in what he does and the years were noticeable in his hair, cleaned his scratched face and began to talk.
"well captain I was out there wrapping the barb wire around the main point of ship. To give us better chance in successfully fighting out of the grip of the beast. Then she hit us with the waves I felt it coming so i tied myself to the post and hurried my task."
The second man of darker skin (who we know as Racer) heavily tattooed with jet black hair. Stepped in interrupting, "We had to not only drag Luis but cut him free without getting swept away. Now for the blood a good portion of the wires were on the deck and it poked and scratched us while we were pulling Luis."
The third man sat idly during the questioning and when the tall slender man snapped out of his gaze he didn't acknowledge what the others were saying around him and just spoke, "I saw it. Luis was right I saw it."
Some didn't catch on to what was being said but those that did were strongly silencing the others. The captain seeing approach the tall man.
