"Okay Nate and Spike please come closer."

Both came and stood in front of the older woman fearfully. But then with cat like reflexes the older woman grabbed both of the by the ear and calmly explained to them the importance of telling the truth.

"I don't need to hear any lies from either of you. And don't think for a second that I wouldn't know. I can see a lie before it's formed."

After the threat she released both of their ears. Quickly grabbing and consoling themselves from the pain. With great hesitation both looked at each other and then looked at the older woman. Her stance remained the same as the short tough lady  kept her stern gaze on the boys.

"Well grandma, these people needed help. Me and Spike showed these people where to find some big fish and the girl ended up taking a swim and we all had to help her."

"Hmm. So why couldn't you wait to show them in the morning?"

Then Luis stepped in, "Excuse madam, if I may speak. The boy was a witness to a dangerous animal that we are trying to removed before the oil company or the government do some real damage to this town. Hence the urgency but I did not expect for Stella to go for a swim, which did change plans. We only wanted to find out where to start searching. My sincerest apologizes, but we definitely made sure your grandson was in no danger, he is a very talented swimmer to say the least."

"Thank you for the proper explanation sir. And what is your name?"

"Luis, madam."

"Thank you Luis for telling me whats really going on. Also my name is Kalumala but you can call me Jade. Now Luis, what animal were you looking for?"

"Honestly Jade, I don't know what it is. But I was on a ship and sent out on a rescue mission when my crew ran into that beast. We almost died but God had mercy on us. But ever since that day we were trying to find it before it gets any closer to home."

From the other side of the room, "That 'animal' attacked the oil rig by the shipping container port."

Everyone attention was now directed towards Stella who just got out of Jade's room using her t-shirt to dry her hair.

Jade now looking at her directly, "Glad you found everything you needed Hun. I assume you are Stella?"

"Yes, Miss. I am sorry for the trouble I brought your grandson. I had no plans endangering anyone."

"Base of what you people are telling me I think I know what it is."

"You do?"

"I guess it's time I teach." Jade walked towards some old tired books stacked by her picture shelf. As her fingers glide through each spine of her prized collections she pulls out a heavy dark green textbook. In faded gold-yellow letters was titled, "Animals from Folklore-islander edition." She opened the thick book and rummaged through its aged pages. Everyone watched in anticipation as she searched through her pages.

"HERE! [everyone quickly stepped closer] The animal you described is called a Bakunawa. A legend in our homelands. This animal was considered a sea dragon or sea serpent. People claimed the beast to be so big that it would eat the moon. According to legend, we use to have eight moons but the beast ate them all expect one. All because the people fought back by scaring it away with loud noises. I really hope this isn't the one you were talking about."

She turned the book pointing to the ominous picture of the beast in full form. To their new found worries they all confessed, yes. Down to the color of its skin the legend was on point when describing the beast. However, eating moons may be an exaggerating but sinking ships was not too far fetched. The book also reveal some more facts in the midst of it fiction. These animals do not venture to the surface unless disturbed. While these animals also have the capabilities to migrant undetected. They are defensive creatures.

More pieces of the puzzle was now coming together. Stella then got closer towards the image and then kindly asked Jade to look at the book. Stella then took the book and went directly to the dining table and started examining the book. Stella noticed her bag on the other chair and quickly grabbed it- pulling out the camera. Turning it on she started looking through her collections of pictures until she saw the white creature. Placing the digital image beside the drawing the images matched up. As of someone took inspiration from the real thing. Luis simply observing this along with everyone else already knew the uses that will come from this book.

"Miss Jade, I know we're asking too much. But can we borrow this book?"
